Guide to ALFA Character Changes
From ALFA
Here you will find what has changed in Neverwinter Nights 2, usually to make ALFA closer to the pen and paper experience.
Skills
- See Skills for more information.
ALFA adjusts the stock Neverwinter Nights 2 skill selection.
- We have removed certain skills, such as Lore, Taunt, and Set Trap, with some of their functionality coming over to other skills.
- Parry has been preserved.
- We have added the full range of PnP skills, such Knowledge, Appraise, Ride, Climb, and Swim.
- Knowledge and Perform have been split into multiple subskills.
Feats
Toughness can only be taken upon character creation (level 1). Rangers receive the feat at level 3, and Frenzied Berserkers receive it at level 1.
Classes
Bard:
- Inspire regeneration (level 7/12/17 inspiration) is not available on ALFA.
- The Perform is modified to closer fit SRD. Your highest Perform skill is used for all bardic abilities.
- Bards cannot stealth while using bard songs.
- Favored Soul is considered an exceptional character and must be approved by the Head Dungeon Master prior to creation.
- Unlike in Neverwinter Nights 2, Rangers do not need to worship select deities, and can even be Faithless.
Prohibited Classes
Warlocks have been removed as a playable class for players. Existing warlocks may still be played, until death.
Prestige Classes
Prestige classes are considered Exceptional Characters, and players must apply to take a PrC. Each character may have only one prestige class, and each player may only have one live character with an exceptional background or prestige class at a time.
Deities
- See the deity page for more information.
