General / ALFA: Code of Conduct

All ALFA members should behave in a manner that is respectful of every other member, whether player or DM, as acknowledgement of the effort that goes into building and maintaining this community. No member should abuse any other member, or the gameworld, or the community, for any reason. Should a member fail to observe this code of conduct, that member is subject to the following measures at the discretion of Admin:

A. Formal Disciplinary Stages: "Three Strike Policy"*

1) First Formal Censure
a) Forum & Chat Infraction--Member is banned from forums and chat for 24 hours at the discretion of the Admin in charge. Erased from record after 6 months without further censure.
b) Game Infraction--Member is banned from all servers, as well as out of game forum and chat for 24 hours, both at the discretion of the Admin in charge.
2) Second Formal Censure
a) Forum & Chat--Member is banned from servers, forum and chat for 1 week at the discretion of the Admin in charge. Second and first chat/forum censure erased from record after 6 months without further censure. Member may not run for Admin with two censures on record.
b) Game--Member is banned from servers, forum and chat for 1 week at the discretion of the Admin in charge. Member may not run for Admin with two censures on record.
3) Third Formal Censure
Banned from ALFA at the discretion of the Admin in charge Egregious instances of cheating or harming another member or member's PC may be prosecuted immediately at the 1 week or permanent ban levels, at the discretion of the Admin in charge.
DMs will be dealt with by HDMs and the DM admin in a common sense manner that is appropriate to the situation on a case-by-case basis. All DMs must adhere to the DM Code of Conduct in general and follow the documented standards and be a good team player. A DM may be removed for any reason that the HDM or DM admin find approriate and fair. If a DM feels she was treated inapproriately or unfairly, she may petition the Lead admin to over-turn the decision.

B. Infraction Categories**

All ingame actions summarized below are on the Player level, and fall under jurisdiction of the Player Admin. DMs acting as Players will be treated as Players and are subject to rulings of the Player Admin; DMs acting as DMs are subject to the DM Code of Conduct and subject to rulings made by the DM Admin. Poor behavior by any member on forums, chat or web are subject to the Infrastructure Admin. Rulings made by HDMs, ARs or forum/chat moderators may be edited or overturned by said Admin. Rulings by the Admin may be overturned and or edited as per ALFA Charter processes.

1) Counselling Level
Those offenses which may result from a player adjusting to the ALFA environment; possible actions listed beyond simple counselling, if any, may apply.
PG - OOC Actions
PG - Conflicting Quests
PG - Part Time RP/Part Time PG
PG - DM Hounding: possible exclusion from event at DM discretion
PG - Character Building - Class Selection: may require DM assisted rebuild or retirement of character depending upon the severity of the issue
2) Warning Level
Those offenses which clearly break rules all members of Alfa should be aware of by reading the APM and Player/PC Documention forums.
Cheating - AI Abuse
Cheating - Game Engine Abuse
Cheating - Combat Logging
PG - Spawn Farming (mild or first time offense)
3) Formal Censure Level
Repeated or severe offenses of all types, with the potential for immediate censure on the following:
MG - Robbing own Corpse
Cheating - Bug/Exploit Abuse
PG - Spawn Farming (repeat or severe cases)
Cheating - Twinking
Cheating - Muling
Giving Out Server Password to Non-Members
Griefing
Hacking
Posting of Graphic Violence in Forums or Chat
Posting of Pornography in Forums or Chat
Posting of Racism in Forums or Chat
Sexual Harassment
