The other door nearby (down the stairs) leads nowhere (not sure if it should or not). [edit] Tested - a bit tricky to activate, but worked for me.

The SRD lists them as having +4 spot/listen, but they spot Maer pretty often. Its not a big deal as they are easily to kill, just really annoying
