I can confirm that the stack of books for the quest did show up when I tried the complete the quest after the module was restarted. They were not being created earlier. Perhaps they only show up once per module load?maralten wrote:TSM - Silverymoon - Vault of Sages' first Courier Quest
- When you talk to the librarian at the College, the stack of books item does not spawn in the cabinet. Cloud tried spawning the item for me, but it doesn't work, it seems to need a journal entry generated at pickup, and just having the item won't do for completing the quest.
This has apparently been happening from all the way back to 2008. Silly bugs!

Yep, this seems to be exactly what's happening. I talked to the librarian right after a reset, and the item was there and everything worked.Waffles wrote:I can confirm that the stack of books for the quest did show up when I tried the complete the quest after the module was restarted. Re: Bugs: March 7 --
Since the update I have experienced unusually long lag upon loading through transitions. The lag seems to be most prevalent when going from an interior area to an exterior area. Last night, the game locked up completely during one interior to exterior transition, requiring a computer reboot to start the game.

College elementary necromancy exam does not give a reward when requesting for the scare spell.
On a side note anyone have a free scroll of scare lying around they aren't using?

Re: Bugs: March 7 --
scare being a level 2 spell, it's unlikely. DM will likely fix you up with it. Some of the classes dont give the higher level spell rewards offered. (makes sense as scare is level 2 spell shouldnt be a reward for elementry anyway)

Re: Bugs: March 7 --
Could be I'm using them wrong, but return barrels don't give me anything back. I put the item I bought in, closed it, nothing. Opened it, item still inside. Left the area, still nothing. this happened on two separate vendors.
EDIT: Also, my half-orc character can't seem to use the transition to the tavern in the Golden Oak or the Clothing and Dyes shop on the south side of the river in Silverymoon.

Haven't had a problem with the first, but half orcs don't seem to be able to enter Moonbrights or exit the smithy in Quaevarr (so I'd advise against going inside). DMs are aware of this.NESchampion wrote:EDIT: Also, my half-orc character can't seem to use the transition to the tavern in the Golden Oak or the Clothing and Dyes shop on the south side of the river in Silverymoon.

Re: Bugs: March 7 --
All above fixed that can be fixed. Should be in with the next update. Some notes:
1) The VoS courier quests #1 and #3 share the same issue with spawning items in a container. They only seem to work once per reset, near as I can tell. Working on a fix for that. In the meantime, if these don't work for you, please try again right away after a reset.
2) The problems Half Orcs are having with doors.... Can't see anything wrong with them. I've swapped out the offending doors with some that we know work elsewhere in the hopes that will get it.
3) We have removed the Shadow Thieves quest. I'll write a new one next time I get a chance. After two years of trying to make it work consistently, it's time those Shadow Thieves found a less well known hideout.

Re: Bugs: March 7 --
Just a random thought here... is it possible that the doors don't work because the doorway is too low and the half orc model is too tall? I notice Moonbrights is a little sunken...Wynna wrote:2) The problems Half Orcs are having with doors.... Can't see anything wrong with them. I suspect this is the case; in the past I've not been able to find anything wrong with the doors scriptwise, and halforcs are the largest PC models.NickD wrote: is it possible that the doors don't work because the doorway is too low and the half orc model is too tall? In other news, the patch update Wynna mentions above is in.

Tried the door again for Mombrights, no luck.
Also, another bug:
Paying Priest Samual Fynn for Cure Light Wounds deducts the gold but gives no healing. Showed Curm the situation in game.

This may also explain why I cannot enter Ironshield Armor store when I'm standing on the higher ground, but can do so from lower ground.AcadiusLost wrote:I suspect this is the case; in the past I've not been able to find anything wrong with the doors scriptwise, and halforcs are the largest PC models.

yeah, they are the new rocks from Pandora that the Siverymoon landscaping comittee had imported.
