I strongly support player choice, and I trust the ALFA player base because I trust the Admissions and PA departments. I am willing to undertake some of the work required to implement PT and would invite anyone who is passionate enough about playing/implementing PT to assist.
The thrust of my proposal will be to define and design a plane-touched beta test for the Moonsea. The test would include handling of ECL and static content including "safe" zones, conversations, skill implementation and scripted events to support plane-touched starting with tieflings. The real interest in assisting with the test will also be a good gauge on how many people are serious about wanting to play PT.
Further to my proposal, which I am going ahead and researching since I haven't yet received a response. Can anyone give me a precis of the article on Plane-touched of Faerun in Dragon #350?
Thanks

I would support this test. Such a test would reveal exactly what technical barriers there might be and at the same time get a start on surmounting them.

I'm guessing you sent that to Rusty since I don't have anything in my PMs. In chatting with Rusty this morning, he mentioned that he was going to be afk for the weekend.
In addition to the technical aspects, I'm still interested in seeing a proposal for the population aspects and ensuring that we aren't overrun at any one time by PT races.
I think PT offers unique RP opportunities for our membership. We profess to be a serious RP community. We screen applicants and monitor new players. This is not something our membership should be denied, technical challenges aside.
Roleplaying challenges?
The roleplaying aspect of PT is that they are have, way back in their distant ancestry, a planar being.
*ANY* character can RP that, without needing special powers or a head that is on fire.

So I can say I'm playing an aasimar as long as I don't select the aasimar race on creation?

I am willing, through OAS2 and Admissions, to hold classes on planetouched for newcomers, to explain exactly what makes these races different/exeptional from the norm. Granted, I see the point of the arguement "they have ancestral blood way back when and therefore need not stand out..."
but at the same time, I think they should stand out...else why even come up with them to begin with? What were the intentions of those who thought up these races? Anywho, more than willing to let new players in on the uniqueness of these races. Will worry about other issues such as should a new member be allowed to play one off the bat when/if we get to that bridge.

You didn't know Se'rie was a half-dragon fey-touched moondog? It's been quite the roleplaying challenge.

Misunderstanding Wynna. I am going ahead and doing some research for my proposal since I haven't heard back from Team Plane-touched or any vocal proponents of plane-touched yet..
Once I am finished researching in the next couple of days, I'll make a start on it. I'll probably circulate a draft sometime toward the end of next week.

True - after all, that it easier than helping to write NPC reaction scripts.

I've started writing a proposal for a test of plane-touched implementation addressing previously highlighted administrative and community concerns using The Moonsea mod/server as a testing ground and tieflings as a test subject.
This would mainly be a test of scripted and DMed implementation and won't give us any information about more suck-it-and-see type issues like how many plane-touched per server we might run successfully, etc. but at least it might be a step forward.
If accepted, the test wouldnt be able to go ahead until at least Beta 2, I still need to get my mod on track for live and there still needs to be enough content to make it a useful test.
Alot of the scripts are things I wanted to implement anyway so nothing will really go to waste even if the test shows us that plane-touched are truly a dumb idea..

Incidentally, do we have a decision on the whole LA thing?
