Now it gets good. Maybe add some conversation before hopping to the drow entering Olias' home though, as it seemed a really direct route, and the passing of time seemed brief.

A cardinal rule in screenwriting is, enter a scene as late as possible and get out of it as early as possible. So, showing them sitting around holding a conversation would only unecessarily prolong the scene. Lots and lots of dialogue can murder a scene. Sometimes characters can say a lot w/o actually speaking. If you go back and read some of the scenes where's there's dialogue, you'll see that a lot of them start as if the characters had been talking before we see them. If it doesn't serve to move the story forward, or convey something important to the reader/viewer/audience, it shouldn't be written.

In a novel, what you suggest would work just fine. Unfortunately, screenwriting is a different animal altogether. As a matter of fact, come subsequent revisions, there's gonna be a lot of the current dialogue and narrative cut, as well as some added. I hope this makes sense. But keep the suggestions and critique comin'. And thanks to those who've PM'd me your critiques and suggestions as well. There's a lotta work left to do yet.

Actually, i appreciate the education i'm getting. i took a scriptwriting course before, but was sadly unimpressed by the teaching. This, on the other hand, provides not only examples, but critique and counter-critique.

Good to hear. Of course, do take into account that this isn't correct screenplay format. I'm sure you know that already though.

Added a scene at the top of the last post.
