The following commands may be run through in-game chat. Typing #help will display other information.

Ability and Skill Checks

A player may roll skill, save, ability, and initiative checks via chat. These checks only care about the first three or four letters after the # symbol. For instance, to roll initiative, you only have to type #init. However, you may type out #initiative.

There are exceptions to what might be expected:

  • The Craft and Perform skills are rolled based on their subskill. For instance, #act will roll Perform: Acting and #bow will roll Craft: Bowmaking.

Some skills have multiple ways to be rolled:

  • #scr is an alternative command for rolling Decipher Script.
  • #dd, #tra, and #disa are all acceptable ways to roll Disable Device.
  • #dis and #disg are acceptable ways to roll Disguise.
  • #ea, #esc, and #art are all acceptable ways to roll Escape Artist.
  • #gi, #gath, and #inf are all acceptable ways to roll Gather Information.
  • #arch and #eng are acceptable ways to roll Knowledge: Engineering.
  • #nob and #roy are acceptable ways to roll Knowledge: Nobility & Royalty.
  • #pla and #the p are acceptable ways to roll Knowledge: The Planes.
  • #mov, #sne, and #ms are all acceptable ways to roll Move Silently.
  • #pick l, #loc, #ope, and #ol are all acceptable ways to roll Open Lock.

There are also some extra rolls that may be performed:

DM Notifications

DMs pay roll special perception checks to nearby players. They will see a pop-up message if they beat the DC. This is useful for normal checks without having to send tells to each successful character.

#ifs 
Sends a message to all who beat a Spot check, of a specified DC.
Example: #ifs15 Smoke rises from behind the hills to the north. -- This would send a notification to every nearby player who beats a DC15 Spot check, with the provided description
#ifl 
Sends a message to all who beat a Listen check, of a specified DC.
Example: #ifl10 A youthful scream echoes from the nearby hills. -- This would send a notification to every nearby player who beats a DC10 Listen check, with the provided description.
#not 
Sends a notification to all nearby players. There is no skill check.
Example: #not A loud scream pierces through all distractions, from the eastern woods. -- This would send a notification to every nearby player, with the provided description.

Anchors

Dungeon Masters may speak and listen through multiple NPCs. First, the DM must select the creature who they wish to throw their voice to/listen from. Next, they enter # followed by a single-digit number 0-9 (for example, #1, #5). The NPC is then "anchored," and the DM will receive all the conversation it hears if they are out of range to hear it. They may speak through these anchors by typing a message after the anchor code.

Example: Type #1 to anchor a merchant to RP with one player, then leave to prepare spawns in another. To respond to the player (who you will still hear conversation from), type #1 Yes, yes, I'm sure we can make a deal...

A DM may list all of their anchors by typing #alist.

Speaking Another Language

A player may inject an @ code into their chat to switch to a different Language, without bringing up the ACR Language Selector GUI. See an individual language's article, or the ACR Language Selector GUI, for a list of valid codes.

Example: @cel Why yes, I am. would convert the text to Celestial.

It is worth noting that text inside curly brackets ({}) is hidden by the engine.
