Wait, there are people who still haven't played NWN2? :P

No, you still can't equip weapons or armor you are not proficient with.

One thing I'm noticing in my weekly campaign is that the twitch skills needed to be effective in combat are much higher than for NWN1. For all the complaints about NWN1 being too much of a video game, NWN2 is much worse. Before using any item you have to first select the target to use it on, the reverse of NWN1, which can easily lead to healing your enemy during combat if you are not careful. Monsters seem to close a lot faster too, and perception v spell ranges are in favor of perception, so AOE spells are much much harder to pull off effectively. We've taken to going invisible before casting them.

I bring this up for the simple point that you can't rely on your experience in NWN1 to come up with effective and balanced changes for NWN2. It plays differently. You'll just have to play it alot yourself to find out.

Paladins seem to be restricted from taking the Tower Shield Proficiency feat at any time.

I'm not sure if this was changed in the conversion from 3 to 3.5, personally it doesn't make much sense to me for a holy warrior to be able to don heavy armour yet not wield a tower shield.

Yes, but does that mean it is a first level feat only? Or only for fighters?

The fighter class automatically gains access to tower shields as part of the class. Both clerics and paladins do not get access to them automatically. I think in theory you could buy the proficiency but don't know if it's even a possibility.

In NWN2, to choose a member party, you click either the corresponding face icon on the right hand side, or you click the corresponding function key (F1 is your character, F2 on down are the other characters or associated companions).

In NWN2, if you wish to target the enemy, you click the Tab button. The tab button, as well as i have been able to tell, targets the closest opponent. If you tab it again, it will target the most powerful (at least that is what it has done for me).

I don't see a problem here. Anyway, it's off-topic

A couple things I would love to see...

Sheathing and drawing of weapons and shields take real time...

And sheathing provokes an AoO...

I haven't played much nwn2 but it looks like it's about the same as NWN1, in which it is a free action to draw and sheath.
