Is there a new IP? I don't see it on the server list and trying to connect via old IP says its down.

Since we moved the host, the old IP is invalid, and your DNS might not have updated bg.alandfaraway.org yet. If you continue to have issues, let me know.

The host moved (see above posts). So, the IP changed. Use bg.alandfaraway.org to connect.

I'm also seeing BG on Gamespy with someone logged into it, so that seems to be working?

When I don't know a changed server IP address I use the trick of just logging into any other ALFA server with my PC. It dumps me into Q and the auto-portaller does the rest.

All servers are down as we're doing an ACR/infrastructure update. Should be restored before too long.

Hi Everyone,
My apologies for the extended downtime.
I was out of time and for the first time forgot to leave a friend keys to my place for emergency reboots.
*sighs* What are the odds of that? Evidently one in one.

At any rate, the box has been restarted and I'm praying that the DMs can connect remotely so they can get the fun started again.

BG is back on wvincenti's host, using the newest haks/ new vault and database setup.

It also now runs as a service that starts automatically, so turning the machine on should actually be all that's necessary to make BG work now.

... and it's down again. Can't connect to the host; can't get it back up.

I'm trying to figure out what is causing the CPU to overheat. I've probably got a couple of spare fans that I can install to see if that remedies the situation. *sighs*

BG is coming down in 5-10 minutes from this post for a cleaning and re-mount of CPU with new thermal compound. Expect a 30-60 minute downtime.
