Teh Burt:
Have I mellowed? It may seem like I have, but I think the truth is that being gone for 4 years means that I am not (yet) heavily invested in ALFA emotionally. I haven't been around, and haven't wanted to be around, so why should I get all upset about some rule change, or admin change, or whatever.
Now, given time, I may well get re-invested in ALFA, and then, when my passion is aroused, I may return to my earlier, bitchier self. Right now, I don't enough about what is going on and I am still swept up in a tide of warm nostalgia. A month from now things may be different.
Having said that, I may, just may have matured a little bit over the last decade. Maybe. I went back and read my own stories about my character, and one of the things that struck me (from my own writings of my own perspective) is that I was really a stubborn bitch. There was great drama and I got to role-play with great role-players, but with years of distance, I can see now how certain DMs (Muse especially) were trying to guide me away from my own somewhat self-destructive stubborness. Not that I think I role-played poorly, quite the opposite, but I could have been more considerate of my DMs, and even of some others.
I also read my "redacted" version of Dark Flower Book II, Chapter 7 - in retrospect, I wish I hadn't written it. I was making a point to Wynna and Twiggy about library censorship, which I still feel should be minimal, but I was such a bitch about it. I can see why they didn't like me much, and got mad at what I wrote. For the Dark Flower chapter "Last Dance", Burt made some critiques about my story, and I went on a rant defending what I wrote (I did admit some parts of the critique were valid, but I was pretty defensive); again, in retrospect, with years of distance, I can look back and say .. Burt, your critique was a good one. I should have just thanked you for being a loyal reader and taken your critique to heart.
Now, while I have gained some perspective on my past exploits, this is no guarantee I will not repeat myself - in fact, it seems likely I will. And if I do, just try to take comfort in the fact that in 5 or 10 years, I will come back and then realize I was a bitch. Its about the best I can offer.
Feed me Seymour, feed me!Do not feed her ego. It's already an obscene, corpulent monstrosity.

Re: Has Mikayla mellowed?
What in the abyss is a "cuddly Eldathian"? It sounds vaguely Lovecraft-ian. Is an Eldathian some sort of ancient horror? A cultist of the Elder Gods? A minion of the Old Ones? I can get behind that.
Hopefully you are not referring to that sad, pathetic Forgotten Realms deity who lives in serene ponds contemplating her navel all day. To quote Monty Python, " strange women lyin' in ponds distributin' swords is no basis for a system of government. Supreme executive power derives from a mandate from the masses, not from some farcical aquatic ceremony. . . .you can't expect to wield supreme executive power just because some watery tart threw a sword at you." So, yeah, I just know you weren't referring to that Eldath.

The Forgotten Realms deity distributes no swords. She's the goddess of pacifism.

Re: Has Mikayla mellowed?
Even worse. Her only redeeming quality, phat l00t, has been taken away. Probably by some Pillar, Charter, Standard or Admin. Well, if she ever STARTS distributing magical swords that lop off limbs and confer supreme executive power, I will exploit that .. I mean .. uh .. I will convincingly role-play a conversion to "cuddly (but well armed) Eldathian."
Until then, I will just think of her when I am in the hot tub.

So converting to Selûne to hang out in our awesome hot tubs?
Well, it's not quite Eldath, but I'll take it.

If a bunch of chicks hang out in Hot Tubs.... do those places then become known as Tot Hubs?
