Yep, and in places like South Korea as well, Taiwan, Latin America obviously, etc. And in the Little League world series games, they give the USA a serious run for their money... but professional leagues for whatever reason seems to be a different story... at least going by the fact star players from Japan and Korea etc come to the US Major Leagues and usually aren't all that stellar at that level of competition.I-KP wrote:Baseball is pretty huge in Japan.
Again, seeing what happened in basketball internationally (lots of countries nearly catching up to the US), who knows what the future holds? But American football... I just don't see it happening. I don't think most countries will ever be interested enough to seriously invest in establishing really competitive teams for a sport that for them has the tag of 'American' something.

Someone would at least have to come up with a different international name for the game!

I do have to make the observation that the rest of the world seems to discount that Canadian Baseball teams have been part of the league..that still limits it too "the North American" series, but the rest of the world doesn't count anyway
OH and BTW..I think the 49er's will win. I would like to see a really hard fought physical game and would be happy for Ray Lewis to get another ring to end his career. Either way is ok..I Liked Jim as a player and he is a Michigan Alum..Go Blue!!

Poor Jim, he arguably got robbed by the no-call, but then the power outage gave his team a second chance so it all evens out.
Hope to see him and the Niners back a few more times in the big dance; happy to see Ray Lewis go out a champ again.
Also, firstborn siblings ftw.
