Ok.. Its not me.
Stormseeker is having problems with NWN2. He did a fresh wipe of HD with a new install of WIN 7. Reinstalled NWN 2 (used my new copy and his CD keys) loads up and logs in plays for about 10-15 minutes... CRASH!!!
And yes he has 9.0c Direct X installed.
Suggestions?
He can post his own specs for his system because I don't know them.

Video card drivers.
I had problems until i got the latest versions. Did stop the occasional crash, but it sure fixed a lot of them.

Re: NWN2 and Windows 7 Crash help
crashes always make me suspect vid card drivers as well.
Also, win 7, make sure when you install the game, right click on the setup.exe file and Run As Administrator rather than letting the auto run take you to the installation. Once the game is installed, right click on the nwn2 desktop icon, properties, and change to Run As Administrator

If it persists after the above suggestions. Turn off all graphical options, everyone one you can. Play in ugly-land for a while see if that stops the crashes, if it does, you can start turning them on one by one until you isolate what is causing your crashes.

Re: NWN2 and Windows 7 Crash help
The only thing i hadn't tried this time was the setupexe. i have a 240 gt and i think that is where the problem is. Since this will be the 4th installation of nwn2 in a week. I even built a "new" system this week, and the only thing i braught over was my processor and the video card.
Turning the settings down to nothing doesn't seem to help, i can crash it in single or on the servers in almost the same spots. Something to do with outside areas, for inside or underground there is no problem at all.
Oh well , price i pay for going to win7x64.

Re: NWN2 and Windows 7 Crash help
Lots of people use win7 64. That is not the real problem. Could be a thermal shutdown. The utility GPU-z will allow you to monitor video card temps I believe, and various utilities will allow you to monitor cpu temsps. Given that you just rebuilt your system, it is not impossible that the cpu cooler isn't quite seated properly. Maybe try those and rule out a thermal problem.
Built: TSM (nwn2) Shining Scroll and Map House (proof anyone can build!)

Re: NWN2 and Windows 7 Crash help
wish it was something that easy, skyrim,me3,bf3,etc no problems on high. This set up in winxp32 no problems. But something about win7x64,my 240 gt, and nwn2 causes it to crash. Have a couple of things still to try, if that don't work then will swap video cards(either go older or borrow bringers newer one). lol one way or the other i will weed out every path till i find the cause.

Yep,was hitting all sorts of forums and it seems this card had some "odd" crashes with certain games.
