Well I was trying to play on my laptop again after a year so and for some reason the multiplayer won't work. It just gives a timed out message and the server listing is totally blank. It used to work just fine last year.
Any suggestions or ideas what the problem is?

SCI kick, after the time out message, there are no servers in any of the categories?
Alfas servers moved to Roleplay
Also since the Gamespy authentication server no longer exists, there is a long delay while it tries to log you into it. but after that you should see our servers in RolePlay

Re: Tech help NWN2 multiplayer on laptop
The symptoms described sound like a lack of internets (or your internets dislike your attempt to access this thing in particular); every category has some servers in it still, and if none are displaying, that's probably a genuine "can't connect"
Re: Tech help NWN2 multiplayer on laptop
Okay well it's working now that I'm not using my home router, but I'm in a hotel on the road working. But Baldurs Gate just boots me out after I pick my PC while loading. I guess AlFA doesn't like hotel connections?

Sounds like your connection is getting blocked at home. One possibility is your router firewall being very aggressive and blocking the connection. Fiddle with that, maybe forward the NWN2 ports to your machine if necessary.
Built: TSM (nwn2) Shining Scroll and Map House (proof anyone can build!)

Getting kicked on connection is likely a different issue: do you have different CD keys on your laptop's install?

Yes CD keys might be different ... Maybe I need to reinstall on my laptop with the same ones

That's it most likely.

Re: Tech help NWN2 multiplayer on laptop
You don't need port forwarding for the client.
What firewall do you have on your laptop ?
Look in it's configuration if NWN2 is blocked.
The blocking can be different for WiFi (and maybe even different WiFi configurations) and Ethernet (i.e. wired) so this could explain why it works in a hotel and not at home.
I'll bet 10 GP that the problem is there.
PS: and the booting problem is certainly related to CD Keys.
