Coming Back to ALFA

Post by Villainous Muse »

A friend of mine recently got NWN2 and has expressed interest in finding a decent place to roleplay. After sifting through a few different places I came to the notion, the remembrance of this server group. Considering other places might not be an option and he is looking for a more "Pen and paper" feel to the game (ie: perma-death, parties required, etc etc etc) and experience I felt compelled to bring this server group up.

That being said, it's been forever since I've even looked at this place and I'm not sure what the political state of any of the servers is. Last time I was here (probably over a year ago if not more) The Silver Marches was mostly Good aligned, Baldur's Gate was mostly Nuetral and Moonshaes was mostly Evil. Of course that's just a rough estimation, I'd like to know how many people are still on this server group and what they would recommend for what will probably end up being a good/nuetral pair of characters.

Thanks for your time everyone, toodles for now :D

Hmm... the esitmation is mostly true, but not completely.
As far as numbers we've been growing lately with players DMs and a great tech team.

BG currently is by far the busiest server with number getting to the teens and 20 some US eves. DM time might be hard, but you never know.
TSM has around 4-10 players on US nights, MS maybe a bit less.

TSM is still mostly goodly alligend but there are plenty of goodly folk on both of the other servers as well. There are low level players currently on alll three servers, so you have a good chance to find people to game with.

I'd say all servers are a vailed option. Depending on what you really want out of your game. BG is the busy dirty city server, MS has a amazing wild areas added extreamly beatiful to watch. TSM is deep in war with some extream fighting and an ongoing plot to discover what the hell is leading the ebil forces.

All servers have enough areas to explore (and hopefuly not die) that it is really hard to choose. I'd say that currently the allignement divsion is close to even between all three options. So just come up with a cool idea... and have fun.

oh, and final note, Tech team has done amazing things to make the game closer to PnP with many improvements (and areas where you can swim and maybe even drown!)
Hoping to see you two in game. Welcome and welcome back.

Well, this is someone I didn't expect to show up again.

Things have changed for the better since you were last about. The underdark server seems to be... in hiatus yet again, but the heartlands server seems to be slowly progressing.

TSM is more good aligned still, but plenty of room for other things. (so I heard, I wanted to get Zyrus in on stuff there, but wasn't online enough and the DMs were busy with others typically)

BG would probably be a good place to start for now if you're looking for population.
First Character: Zyrus Meynolt, the serene Water Genasi berserker. "I am the embodiment of the oceans; serene until you summon the storm." Zyrus: http://tinyurl.com/9emdbnd

Second Character: Damien Collins, the atypical druid. "What? Being a stick in the mud is boring. No pun intended grins"

Western Heartlands HDM: On break. PM for emergencies

alfa is the fungus amungus.... it always grows back.

So, congrates on once again coming to the place where you can pick mushrooms, swim in water, watch dragons flying and have a horde of orcs breathing down your neck, all the while pirates are seeking to loot you. May you yet again enjoy your stay!

<Castano>: danielnm - can you blame them?
<danielmn>: Yes,
<danielmn>: Easily.

I've been here off and on myself, for... about 10 years now? IMO the project is as healthy, vibrant, and fun as it ever was. Player and DM coverage is higher now than it has been in a long long time. The quality of RP is consistently excellent.

Welcome back!
