Fliers were left at The Bright Blade Brandished, Optym's Blades, the guards outside of Silverguard Fortress, The Temple of Battle Prowess, and Iron shields armor in hopes that the owners might hang them. The parchment bears the marks of those written and copied by the Vault.

A band of seven did come come from the caves north of the Kemlevorite Vault with barrels and boxes of foodstuff, a flag of a blue hood and bloody blue robes covering one.
Marshall Kadellon heard their story. A host of Orcs was spotted by a wayward scout, Keren, as he visited the vault. He approached them and found more had taken refuge in a hidden hollow. He killed three of them then returned to Rivermoot to garner support for entering the caves.
He found mostly fey Elves and a large burly man with an axe the size of a wagon wheel. They set out and found kolbolds working with the Orcs inside the hidden cave. The battled them including two Orcs dressed in fine blue robes and hoods, then discovered a wagon and cache of stolen supplies meant for the hungry of the Marches.
All this evidence was turned into Marshal Kadellon but after a cursory scouting, no more Orc infesations were discovered in the caves sampled.

OOC note:
his axe is actually suprisingly elegant looking, made of what looks to be pure silver, clearly elven design except for what look like rearing horses on the flat of each side of the blade. He found mostly fey Elves and a large burly man with an axe the size of a wagon wheel

A fair woman in purple was seen in the Vault, the House Invicible, as well as Rauvenwatch asking after any reports and accounts of the orcin wars of two years past involving Bluetusk.
As well, a similar Lady was seen asking to speak with a member of the Spellguard within the College itself.

Re: Tavern Knowledge (II) - post your rumours and gossip her
Rumours filter down to Rivermoot of civil unrest in Settlestone. It seems the food shortage has resulted in Grimstadt instituting some sort of food rationing program.
If the rumours are to be believed there have been several public lashings and even a hanging following some rioting and theft.
It is also rumoured that the halt in the flow of malt and ales down from Settlestone is not simply the result of the strangling of commerce due to beasts raiding caravans, but because Grimstadt has ordered that all stores of barley be confiscated and used as food rations.

(( Where would Maer be able to purchase decent quantities of food in the Marches? I assuming most is being rationed? He needs to take some to Grimstadh in Settlestone as part of a larger bargain. Something like a dozen sacks of rice? ))

Sergeant Wilson was notified of a burial detail needed at the plaintation near Rivermoot, as it was found during guardshift those on duty within the night had been killed.

Re: Tavern Knowledge (II) - post your rumours and gossip her
(( Thanks to DM Swift for sorting out the tech rezes. I did confirm Maer was able to throw a fireball through the inner wall. I appologize for tech-dying; I should have burned consumables and lived, but I was thinking "we're inside a town, half the party is AFK-ish, WTF is going on? This must be treated as being OOC". I did not treat the encounter seriously until I started getting hit with spells from a druid in-between the walls, and by then it was too late.A party of adventurers, including Aglaril Shaelara the spellsword, Elrien the druid, Eifor of the Hard-Hoof tribe, and Taernl, all led by the Legion scout Maeredhel, shamble into Settlestone. Looking weary and bloodied, they nonetheless had smiles on their faces when they entered the relative safety of the town.
The larger adventurers carried sacks of food and provisions with them, as well as looted arms and armor. They quickly brought the food to Grimstadh in the marketplace, along with a fine suit of enchanted platemail, clearly meant for dwarven proportions.
Eventually, Maeredhel greets Grimstadh with a weary smile, looking up at the taller dwarf:
"See, I told you I'd bring something. Laniara should have more for you; she travels a bit more easily than I. 'twas not at all easy getting here.
"Well, then there's the bad news: there are a lot of nasty things outside your walls. A huge, blue-skinned ogre with many orcs was just south-west of the start of the stone path leading to the gates. We cut down many gnolls, orcs and bug-bears to get here. At least a dozen in the immediate area and a druid with them. We didn't touch the ogre, though one of got too close and it gave chase for a bit.
"I'd appreciate it if you let the uncut know what we've done. Nearly two of us died getting here. We also cleared the path down to Rivermoot, for however long that is good for. I hope it is still survivable when he arrives.
"If you'd like, I could take a look 'round outside and give you some idea of their forces 'fore I go."
Taernl brought nearly 200gp worth of food. I know food is scarce in the Marches right now, but presumably its a lot more scarce in Settlestone, so I'm guessing he should have been able to buy 'something'?
Eifor also brought provisions, presumably whatever he could have found in Silverymoon, High Hold or Rivermoot. I believe Aglaril brought food as well. Maer did not as he cannot really carry anything. I'm not sure about Elrien.
Thanks for viigas and JLM for their mob placement and making things interesting without a DM

Aglaril bought back a suit of +1 Dwarven Platemail and gave it to Grimstadh. ))

((Actually Aglaril handed the suit of armor to Eifor and instructed him to turn it in to Grimstahd, which he did i.e. suit was collected by Swift
Also, as far as food...
Aglaril brought a bit of beef jerky and some dried roots. Which he did not share.
He didn't know the trip was happening until the last moment, didn't have time to prepare, heh.
He did make a painfully large (for him) donation to the Tyrran priest in Rivermoot to be used to alleviate the difficulties, and he also gave a large and long overdue tithe to Elaith at Everdusk))

A tall darkskinned man in steel breastplate carrying a huge but elegant greataxe of silver, strides into Silverguard fortress and after a few minutes waiting patiently asks in very slow but precise Common for an appointment with "Chieftain Lady Alyra Ashedown Ironbeard of Silver Knights". "I am Eifor Eisigr of The Hard Hoof Tribe", he aserts proudly. He further explains they are aquainted and yes this is of utmost importance reguarding safety through out the Marches. Looking down kindly upon the hesitant Knight Secretary on duty with a smile he adds "You give message..Eifor is very sure Chieftan Alyra will assign it the importance she see's fit, she not seem one to punish messenger" He asks that when she is available he can be found at Miellikki's Grove or if not there Priestess Tathshandra will alert him to any message when he returns.

Many folk are relieved to see the large numbers of soldiery mobilizing across the Marches. A large contingent of legion moves towards Rivermoot, High Hold is become a busy hub of troops training and sorting, and a goodly force of KiS has set out toward Kelb.
"Now them buggerin' beasts 'll see whot fer"...says a weary looking farmer from Kelb to his fellow refugees outside the Blacklar Gate..."The Lady's knights 'll put things a'right".

There is some discussion about High Hold concerning a somewhat odd incident at the river bridge.
It seems two riverboats were docked awkwardly on the bridge after coming down river form far upstream.
"I thought them blunderin' fools would drown whot wif the arsin' 'bouts tryin' ter lash ter the bridge pilin's"...said an experienced sailor to another..."ye'd 'ave thought they'd never piloted a raft afore!"
"Aye"...said his companion..."And most likely ye'd be right. Those twernt waterfolk, they were landlovers all. Scale mails an' plate...Ha!. It be thar gods whot got 'em down safe, matey...nay thar skills!"
It seems two groups of ragged and soaking wet adventurers disembarked awkwardly at the bridge carrying two bound prisoners to the Keep: an attractive human woman and a halforc male. Both appeared wounded and the woman was gagged.

There is much excitement in RIvermoot of late. It seems that Sir Rathalan Whitsword accompanied the last reinforcement arriving, and spoke at length with Sgt. Wilson and Sir Richard du Lyons.
After Sir Rathalan departed toward High Hold, Sir Richard was seen to be organizing women, children, and the elderly for an evacuation to safety. Soldiers and commoners alike seem to gush praise on Sir Richard and gloom that had settled like a dark fog over Rivermoot seems to have been lifted.
