Disable Device nothing, a better search roll would have likely done the trick.

I think last night went great, maybe not what people were expecting but it played out really realistically as far as I am concerned. I paid for my bungle exploding the caravan, the warlock paid with his life with his collateral gone.

Cheers to Ronan, Paazin, and unsung hero last night Lokan. He rolled a PC up for this encounter and had the bad luck of fleeing with Berendil as the cutoff man. I hope he can forgive the many arrows in his back. Well played everyone involved.

The original hook with Geth was laid way back, before Voric even thought of repenting. Thus he didn't begin to suspect the highest level goodies ALFA has waiting to smite him. And thus he was roflstompted. He shouldn't of entered the cave, but wanted to see if Voric was betraying him (he thought it'd be in the normal, Cyrist was). No way to march the army of evil minions that could challenge them up and down the trade way with any sort of subtly.

Detect magic would've done it too, especially with Olaf's spellcraft rolls and/or a read magic cantrip. Problem with those glyphs is the damn search DC is 28! Tbh that just doesn't seem fair. Talking with Voric or the hostages might've been enough, but that damn Cyrist was sneaky and told them all a half-truth: that they'd explode if they tried to leave the wagon. In reality it was a passphrase on the wagon's doorway for anyone passing though - in or out. If he died you can bet he wanted those innocents dead, but if he lived it'd be better if they did; he didn't want to get hunted by a bunch of uber goodies.

The PC Lokan rolled up was just a helper, immediately given level 5 just to be murdered and drop l00t :D

Always fun to game with Mick and dirsa, last night no exception. Having Ronan send us into the snow for some danger was appreciated as well, good ol' adventurin.'

Pity when your only orc-speaker is not a diplomat eh? "Rhaggot face-man now, this mean us roll fer 'nisshtive now, pissdrinkers?"

Had a power outage last night... windstorm or something like that, which interrupted a lovely evening of good RP on both the player and DM side.

Also, welcome DM Lokan!

Pity it's me doing props three posts in a row, but what can I say?

Had a good time with Audark in a strange bedfellows type situation, arranged by Lokan. When the dust (and blood) settles and you're trying to tell a bunch of NPCs what'd be a good course of action for them, quite funny to have one PC roll a 20 for diplomacy and the other end up with a roll bad enough to modify down to ZERO. Guess who the NPCs thought had the better idea?

Though Audark had to split, had a much more frightening time in I guess my first "personal quest" ever in ALFA's NWN2. Carried on with Lokan, with Ronan rolling in too. Very fun, was wondering if a very nasty duel would end with death or quitting the field in shame... not much of a writer, but maybe short-tale worthy, hell of a scene.

Cheers to all, thanks for a fun night.

Credit to brokenbone for Rhaggot as well, I'm not usually one for these sorts of threads but his thick orcish rp was genuinely believable and transcended the generic barbarian-speak of many of these sorts of characters into something almost endearing in his vocabulary. I am sorry I had to split, but I am glad it opened up an opportunity for you. Definitely a strange pair but not as odd as you may think at first glance.

Anyways Lokan created a believable and distraught husband and wife pair that allowed for a little adventuring, a little thinking and the use of some social skills after the fact. It may have been brief but it was an excellently well rounded type of 'quest' for lack of a better word.

Looking forward to more in the days ahead.

Lots of happy blessing to Lokan and Rorax for plenty of fun but also thank you all the players who make it even more fun. Thanks Drake, Arbi, Anchra and Rothar, together we rock undead socks off for the greater good :P

Big fun with Ronan the other night....quality DMing there. And one of my favorite PC parties in a long time. Scisha, Merrin, Voric, Rhaggot all great RP and quality play..... It really felt like PnP D&D...and that's awesome! :)
