Neverwinter 2011

Post by wvincenti »

Has anyone looked at the new Neverwinter product or beta tested it?
Does it look like it might be useful for a persistent world?

It looks really pretty, but from what Ive gathered it does not seem geared towards PWs. For one, there is no DM Client. For another, it seems anything built with the foundry remains on their servers. It doesnt seem one is able to build then host their own server.

Game is now going to be a free to play, action oriented MMO game and, judging by cryptics record at such games it will be a craptacular excuse for a game.
Cryptic has a habit of rushing MMOs out the door a little sooner than perhaps they ought to. Hopefully this delay has that extra polish time factored in.

Well, there goes the last shred of my interest in the new Neverwinter game.

I am hoping that with the new game coming out there will be another sale or two of the old nwn and nwn2 games on steam or whatnot. We should definitely do our part to stay involved in the hype of the game coming out and latch on to any interest in nwn2 that may arise from new players of this Neverwinter MMO.
