Also if you are interested to join us, I have created a Facebook's group:

Edit: thanks go to Boom for the ideas.

Yes that's the downside of Facebook.
Unless you subscribed to it with a false name.
I have a few friends who did that

Re: ALFA on Facebook (part 1)
I have also created a page.
http://www.facebook.com/pages/ALFA-A-La ... 0228323695
It seems to be better than groups.
We need more than 25 likes on this page in order to be able to choose a nice url like:
http://www.facebook.com/alandfaraway

On the placement of the button on the page.. not exactly pretty looking
Let's consider alternatives on that..

Re: ALFA on Facebook (part 1)
I'd join but I'm in the role playing closet. While I'm convinced there's some way to screw with your account settings, privacy, etc. to maybe make your normal friends, family, colleagues etc. not have group join alerts pop up, or be able to tell you're joined up with RPG groups... well, the privacy settings seem to change 1-2x a year as they keep reinventing policies. Tips anyone? Other than to embrace the geekiness? Set up an alternate profile to use to nerd out and/or become FB friends with porn stars and whatnot?

It's just a group. Generally, FB'ers are in hundreds of them, i doubt anyone would even notice or care enough to poke around and find it.Brokenbone wrote:I'd join but I'm in the role playing closet. Also, man up and embrace the geekiness. It isn't the 90s any more when nerdy geeky stuff was frowned upon by 'the cool kids'

Depends on the person. Idiot teenagers or 20-somethings, sure.zicada wrote:It's just a group. Generally, FB'ers are in hundreds of them, i doubt anyone would even notice or care enough to poke around and find it.

Anyway, good luck y'all, I'm certainly not joining either.

People talk of bestial cruelty, but that's a great injustice and insult to the beasts; a beast can never be so cruel as man, so artistically cruel.

Viagra used to be the pill of shame, now it sponsors the Stanley Cup playoffs. Hmm.
That maybe has more to do with big meaty cocks though, everyone likes those. D&D, less so.

Re: ALFA on Facebook (part 1)
I have updated the link on the first page so that it points to the facebook page.
Zic, the placement isn't definitive of course, just testing right now.
Anyone know Facebook well and the advantages/disadvantages of groups vs pages ?
I preferred how the old groups worked but they are phased out so...

Agreed. Nothing wring with being proud of your geekiness. The world would grind to a screeching halt if it wasn't for geeks.zicada wrote:

Re: ALFA on Facebook (part 1)
I'm at peace with my geekiness, I just don't want any of you chumps knowing about it...
