*A tall slender figure, garbed in glittering silver armour and appearing oddly translucent strides up to the Legion guards at High Hold, an auro of magic surrounds him. He speaks softly to them a moment*

"Further patrols might be needed for those wishing to travel to the gem if they wish to witness Lady Alyra's Knighthood, I was attacked by an ogre on the road not far from the blasted tower. I doubt someone less prepared would have survived."

*as he turns away, the spell effects seem to vanish as he strides off, it becomes apparent that there is not a mark on him, the first guard looks to the other and smirks*

"'e's probably makin' it up, don't reckon he'd come off so lightly otherwise"

*the second replies with a crooked grin*

"Nah, 'E's one of those pansey Elves, probably just ran in the other direction moment 'E saw it, probably should let the Sergeant know just incase."

"Missives have been sent through the church of Meilikki throughout the city to friends of Argus that a few words will be spoken over his remains by Sion who did find him in his last moments upon Faerun. Several signs have been posted in the street by the erstwhile ranger.

A buzz is going around the Gem that groups of people saw a walking tree dragging a flame-haired elf toward the Hunter's Gate. These supposed sightings are made more outrageous/credible by the fact that the guards also claim to have been ordered to throw open the gates for the tree.

"Hehe, yeah, an' that elf had a nekkid womern on his arm, he did," a particularly well-liquored guard says in a tavern nearby.

His equally libated partner nods, "No clothes, whatsoever! Saw it m'self."

The busty barwench thumps down another round, declaring, "Walkin' trees? Nekkid wemmin? This is y'last round f'th'night, boys."

Rumor spreads of a massive siege tower with a mechanical tail rolling up to the gates of Silverymoon, and a variety of adventurers climbing out before watching the rolling contraption rumble off into the sunset.

The Griffin Coster Guard fumed loudly at the Helm and Hammer, "...then this damn contraption came rollin' on up, NO HORSES..steamin' and fumin' like it got a dragon stuck up inside it! Starting ringin' a tinny bell and it backed over half our tents! THEN the damndest thing, looked up and there was a teeny Gnome wearin' goggles yellin' "MY BAD." Then he pegged me' buddy in the head wif a bag of gold.

Damn thin' chugged off like a sick ox fartin' and steamin' out it's "tail" pipe a sulfurous stench!

*he grins at the his fellow bar mates with ardent Dwarven desire*

I tell ye, I gots to get me one.

A rangery-looking fellow spreads word that some murdered brownies seem to have been used to curse a section of the Moonwood with an unnatural blight.

He also claims that he burnt the woods. But only the sick parts.

*Word comes down from Quearvarr that the great earth moving has commenced. Druid earth movers are liquifying the very ground in order to build a better town, more harmoniously balanced with the earth.

As more and more contractors inquire, one thing is assured, the town of Quearvarr and their elders, including the House Moncrief, will log no more and have turned their sights to mining the many underground caves in the area. The Knight Slyvanie has also assured all peoples of the Moonwood border that this ore will not be smelted in Quearvarr and be transported to both Felbar, Sundabar, and Everlund for processing.

Thus many new jobs are being created from cob builders to mine surveyors to the reestablishment of the many fine buisnesses of Quearvarr. New shrines will include a place for the Druids of Silvanus to monitor the mining activities and the Malar activities within the Moonwood and a planned temple of House Invincible to help server as a bastion to the new dwarven hewn stone walls being erected around the once destroyed village.

Hunters are still prohibitied from attacking the Lizardfolk of the Obsidian Pools that dwell beyond the waterfall. However Gnoll and Werewolf hunting is greatly rewarded if proof is provided of their demise.

Any one who is caught interfering with this, including the small faction of Aurilite cultists that have sprung up amoung the refugees, and is found to be damaging, defacing, or in cohorts with the Malar will suffer the direst punishments via the Argent Legion and the New Quearvarr accord.*
*As well it is noted, by a travelling band of adventurers by the Druid Liana at the Golden Oak, that Sion Longfang now stands as the sentry of the Chauntean shrine in Khelb beside his priestess. He speaks little, but his eyes hold a pained silence of a man that has seen the other side of death and returned changed. Around their feet or on his back, a small baby girl gambols, her face marked half-ways with a red birthmark and a small but ever-strengthening arm, curved like a claw.*

At dawn, a scout in green-tinted armor and woodlands camoflauged cloak approaches the Rivermoot garrison commander's tent, comes to attention and hands him a partially unrolled scroll. She remains at attention while Sgt. Wilson reads it twice, double checking the broken seal before nodding and handing the scroll back to the youngish woman of visibly half-elven decent. After a brief quiet exchange, the pair shake hands and the young scout heads off to gather her kit, stock up on ammunition for her oak-leaf and acorn adorned longbow and she heads out of town, heading east, an eager, if oddly vengeful, expression on her face, her step light and lively*

News abounds from Fourthpeak!

Nothing short of an army of orcs, trolls and other horrifying beasts assaulted and overwhelmed the Argent Legion and Spellguard posted at the Dungeon of the ruins. Word spread by Sergeant Praetor Baron who miraculously survived the assault, only to end his own life by leaping from the battlements of Fourthpeak. Some say he was distraught at the loss of his men and could not go on, others that he was a traitorous coward and took the easy way out instead of returning to fight for his fallen men.

The fact remains some dozens of Legionnaires lay dead but a glimmer of hope in this sea of darkness. Adventurer's and Legion members, led by the Knight Alyra Ashedown, marched on the dungeon of the ruins and put the perpetrators to the sword. It is said the corridors of that ancient ruin are thick with dead goblins, orcs, trolls and ogres. When the brave adventurer's returned they bore with them a much battered platoon of Legion men, who had managed to barricade themselves within. Many families tears turn from despair to those of happiness and contentment this day as their men return to them from the jaws of death.

Though all are in good cheer to be safe from harm, not a one has anything to say about their deceased Sergeant Baron, and look away with gritted teeth and a cold face when asked about him.

A towering figure fills the doorway bending down to step through into the light of the gutting torches. The Marshall and priest of the dead look up from where they were speaking and Aaron Ra quickly rasies a hand to the temple guard who had reached for his mace instinctively as the enourmous walking arsenal of weaponry enters the temple.

He lays down a heavy burden from his shoulder to the temple floor.

The priest and Marshall approached the body and frown at the gored wounds and torn flesh they have become so used to from those lost in the hill caverns.

"This elf died fighting",a deep rumble from the man,"This body was surrounded by those of his enemy. He did not run. For that he deserves honor. Not to rot in a lizards cave"

Shadows played accross the wall as the large man turned to leave. He paused at the door.

"I have taken his weapon and shield. They are stout and yearn to be wielded and i shall do so. The rest is for you."

The Marshall looked at the empty doorway for a moment and then looked down sighing. "Poor Talamir"

Rumors and talk all center around the very strange and scary night when many who were out of the safety of their homes or the walls of the cities saw the darkness come alive. Shadows stalked the night, looking for something, it seemed, all across the Silver Marches. Whether they found what they were looking for is unclear, but if they noted any living travelers, they were quick to break from their search and attack.

With the end of the night, the search ended and things returned to normal, but it was a fearsome night indeed.

Rumors have it that a few stalwart adventurers lost their lives while investigating the mystery.

The past few days have seen a decrease in armored appearances of the Knight Protecter Alyra Ashedown on the roads surrounding Silverymoon. While some word has come from High Hold of terrible injuries sustained, more scholarly folk around the Gem have seen the young woman in dresses and loose clothing coming to and from the Vault of Sages with the dwarven scholar Kasil.

While the less armored attire is strange, what is more so is a slowly healing burn said to cover most of the right side of the woman's face. If there is an explanation, it is not forthcoming, as the woman and the dwarf often disappear into the more obscure sections of the Vault soon after being spotted.

An elf familiar to many wearing fine Mithril armour of Dwarven craftsmanship with a forest green cloak and hood has been seen in the marches again of late, when asked where he has been these past months, he replies simply 'visiting kin' little more is forthcoming on which kin he speaks of as he is known not to be a local.

Word begins to spread of a disasterous attempt to clean up the notorious Trident Caves at High Hold the other day. Four men, a hin, two humans and a venerable, nearly white-haired moon elf, were seen by the High Hold sentries at the western bridge heading for the cave. Some time later, the four returned, but the elf and the human in heavy armor were being half-carried and half-dragged back to the Hold, the hin badly wounded as wel. Both bodies were horribly mangled, apparantly by undead, as the wounds did not show the clean lines of blade or punctures of arrows. After some time, a meeting with the well known recently be-knighted Lady Sir Ashedown occurred, and after some deliberation, the bodies were eventually carried eastward toward the Gem, now escorted by a dark haired scout decked out in green and brown cammo armor and cloak. People at the Moorgate of the Gem remark on the sad processions arrival and splitting in two as one body is carried off to the Temple of Battle Prowess and the other to Everdusk Hall.
