Anyway, if it's not an MMO it could be NWN 3.

Future will tell...

If it's an MMO, waste of time.

If it's NWN3 - Atari will find a way to screw it up.

Assuming Atari manage to retain the rights to the D&D licence.

If you check the link, it's Atari announcing an upcoming DnD game :P

Still just a rumour at this point. The domain name registrations indicate that there is a good chance of a new Neverwinter Nights game, though. Whether Cryptic is doing it and it's an MMO or it's from a completely different company is yet to be seen.

That none of the domain names are for Neverwinter Nights "3" points strongly in the direction of a MMO.
Current PCs:
NWN1: Soppi Widenbottle, High Priestess of Yondalla.
NWN2: Gruuhilda, Tree Hugging Half-Orc

One thing is confusing: in the 4e time frame, Neverwinter has been destroyed. And I can't see WotC permitting any version other than 4e being used.

However, there is a 3rd quarter 2011 Wizards of the Coast product that has been announced: the Neverwinter Campaign Guide.

Since they previously stated that there would be no further Realms material published, I wouldn't be surprised if this product made it into the line up only because it would be supporting a computer product as well.

We'll see though. ;o

Wut?
People talk of bestial cruelty, but that's a great injustice and insult to the beasts; a beast can never be so cruel as man, so artistically cruel.

With 4th edition their stated plan for each setting was not to publish anything beyond a DM's Guide to the setting, a Player's Guide to the setting, and an adventure, and nothing further other than novels and web content.

They did break that mold slightly with the Darksun release though, combining the player and DM book and giving it the monstrous compendium.

The Neverwinter Campaign Guide is just a strangely out of place product as far as the plan they've been sticking to.

I wonder how much IP they will steal from the nwvault. We'll probably be fighting all storytellers creatures!

Also keep in mind that the game is apparently targetted to be released at the same time as Book 1 of a new Neverwinter Trilogy by R.A. Salvatore, so it is highly likely that the campaign guide, books and new game is entirely based around what happened to Neverwinter, why, and what its future holds.

it has to be said that the class options are rather lacking, the game might have potential to be good however... guess time will tell
