Guardians of the Gate (group organisation)

Post by Dorn »

Sorry for the lame title. Open to other suggestions.

Asked Zic to make a player group for us to organise ourselves witout spamming everyone's 'new post' log but he seems to be MIA.

Ok.

So Cael, Ania and Sanna had a bit of fun, almost died, argued a bit about religion, put on some serious bravado for newly cast adventurers, were interferred with by a walking tree.... but are now resting up at the Friendly Arms Inn.
Zalanthe was lame and wouldn't get out of bed ;)
Sylvaine left the group due to the lack of french toast at breakfast

((note this is not a thread for any IC-meta as it's in an open forum))

I can't make the next 3 sessions. Unless something drastric happens i'll not be there tomorrow (Wed) and then will be down south on holiday for next Monday and Wednesday.

I'm happy to be sidelined so you and the others can continue to have fun. Obviously the various manouvers of the Flaming Fist in the south offer an easy IC reason for Cael not to be somewhere.

DanielM, thanks for your continuing efforts. I 'm continually impressed with your NPC characterisation.

Shoot me a PM with the details. Takes twenty seconds to set up.

Let me know:

Forum name
Who is in charge of the group
Who you want accessing the forum (eg. Post access for group+dms, read access for everyone; or read and post access for DMs + group only).

The only problem with taking it into a group forum is that you don't quite get so much publicity to attract new members through the forum post.

Thanks rot, and paaz for your pm.

So group? Want to change the name (it's only an ooc name)? Public or private forum. We'll keep public unless anyone had concerns (good point above rotku - could you please sticky?).

Anyway, seems I may now be there tomorrow afterall.

It's as good (or as bad ;) ) as any.

We're a rather motley crew, it's unlikely we'll ever have more than a single shared secret at any one time. But I am worried about sharing IC info with players who may not want to know things - it can be very hard to "unsee" something, let alone "unknow" it.

Perhaps we could have both? A private forum for the IC info, and threads in the regular BG forum where we arrange meetings and thus allow other PCs to "happen" to be there.

Done, Rotku or paazin could you 'make it so'?

"Guardians of the Gate" (supersecret IC meta thread)

Read and post access for the below ONLY :
Dorn
holly
Angpipes (sp?)
Swift
DanielM (DM)
Sandermann (DM)
Mord (DM)

But lets keep orgnaising here.

Dan indicated tonight would be a good long session. So swift....eat some bananas (or Mothers if you insist)

When are your meeting times again? I might want to sneak in a session or two if you'd have me :P
People talk of bestial cruelty, but that's a great injustice and insult to the beasts; a beast can never be so cruel as man, so artistically cruel.

Ease off a bit. As stated previously, I have school coming up, and have no idea what my schedule is going to be like. I'm sure something can be hashed out, but I'd hate for you to go through a boatload of trouble and then me not be able to DM at your required times anymore due to my own schedule changing.

Given who we're "having" sofar, you'd have a hard time sticking out even if you were a half Ogre.

No worries, we're not out to stake claims on your time or anyone else's.

In fact, we could perhaps plan a few things "on our own", without a DM? Some team building and bonding sessions wouldn't go amiss. Maybe we can have a tour of the Flaming Fisters' facilities, or be dragged along to pay homage in the house of the Sea Queen. Or just sit in a tavern and meet new people.

Apologies for missing another session, I had some stuff I absolutely had to take care of for school this AM. The good news is, my Monday/Wednesday mornings are free till end of semester, so for now we can continue at the normal times and days.

Don't apologise, you're the DM!

Besides, you'd have felt cheated anyway given the turnout.

K, I'll have to take a small break away from dming atm (two weeks, including this week) so I can get some RL squared away. Will be back dming week after next.

Afraid my postponment will be longterm. I am stepping back from dming, as real life has invaded and taking over. My coarsework requires a lot of reading, a lot on on sight observation and later training, and for someone whose been out of school for 6 years it is a bit overwhelming at this point. Truely sorry I can't contiue with developing your PC's.
