Rumours of people "losing their minds" begin to circulate about Rivermoot and as far east as High Hold. It seems various persons have been seen to behave erratically and afterward have reported "hearing voices". The RIvermoot garrison Sergeant Wilson has reportedly instructed his soldiers to attempt to avoid lethal force when subduing miscreants until it can be determined if they are afflicted with one of these yet to be understood fits of madness.

Traveling merchants report seeing sections of a dwarven army moving north up the mountainrange for the last five days. Last sighting was a few leages east of hawksnest and happend last night. Words are that Felbarr grown tired of the orcs pestering about and decided to handle it direct and brutal hence a smaller army.
Hawksnest guards however say no orc been sighted of late and the likely target must be giants.

Murder in the heart of the Gem

Two men and a half elven were killed last eve, just south of Sorlars Smiling Satyr by the river. The three men had been seen drinking with each other some hours earlier and were reported to have been in good spirits. Things turned nasty later in the evening, however. Witnesses have told that the men quite suddenly appeared to turn on each other, with many punches and kicks thrown, along with a fair share of screaming. After ejection from the tavern, the men continued to fight, drawing sword on each other before the Knights could intervene. This reporter has been told the two men were felled by the half elven. The half elven's killer is still at large, though it is whispered that a figure appeared from the shadows moments after the fighting had ended to "finish 'im orf" before disappearing from whence it came.

These events come shortly after the deaths of two farmers, one murdered in Khelb, the other frightened to death outside of Rauvinwatch. The Legion remain baffled by the deaths, though the Knights in Silver claim to have a suspect. Recently a Knight has been spotted around the Bright Blades Brandished making quiet enquiries. This reporter has also heard whispers that the Ladys Magic College is also involved, though these reports remain unverified so far.

Unsleeping eyes, ever watching

More and more reports are coming into the Knights of unseen eyes keeping a keen eye on citizens of our great city, though few people have managed to catch any glimpse of the supposed watchers. This reporter herself has felt the gaze of unseen spies, boring into her head like fire. As yet, the Knights refuse to confirm the existence of such complaints, but sources within Silverguard Fortress have confirmed that the problem is growing. Nobody yet knows why these seemingly invisible watchers have begun such widespread surveillance.

The Carnage continues...

A traveling merchant of ill repute was found dead in the Golden Oak overnight! Olddyn Avernor was found in a pool of blood with his throat violently ripped open. The merchants guard was seeing running from the tavern minutes before the body was discovered. He was found a short time later frantically washing his bloody hands clean and was arrested by the Knights in Silver.

This event continues a recent string of violence that has left at least four men dead and has sent fear racing through the streets of Silvermoon. The Knights remain tight lipped regarding the progress of their investigations, but this reporter has been told by one source that all the recent murders are still being investigated, with few leads and even fewer suspects.

...and then falls silent

Information is slowly filtering from Silverguard Fortress that reports of hidden, unseen spies watching over townsfolk has come to a sudden halt. There is no word yet as to why they have stopped, nor indeed why they began in the first place. What reason did this beings come to the Gem? Why did they spy on seemingly random citizens? And why do these questions remain unanswered?

Above all, shouldn't we expect more from those charged with our safety?

Rivermoot Guards are additionally on edge. The mother of one of the slain guards swore she has seen the rotting face of her son in her window at night. Additionally the family of Will Garavain, did see the same but two nights ago, their son laid to rest in the Rivermoot crypts. Many are set to wonder what sort of evilry is going on in the depts of the Rivermoot cave warrens and who might be behind it, is merely speculation.

It's alas not unusual to find dead bodies along the trails of the Frozen Hills. Sometimes they are half eaten. Sometimes they're a bloody pulp. But this last one... the last one had been filleted. Not just flayed, but filleted. All skin and flesh had been stripped off the bones, leaving a skull-less face as sole witness this was once a living person...

There is much gossip around Rivermoot that the ne'er-do-well hog farmer known as Luke has been arrested and will likely be hanged for attempting to sell his own son into slavery. It is difficult to find any person that has anything pleasant to say about Luke and most seem quite happy about the prospect.

There are some few dockspersons that make vague claims about the arrest being some sort of elven conspiracy, but even they seem to generally regard the plight of Luke's son as pitiable. It is said that Luke's young son has been seen almost exclusively in the company of a mysterious and strikingly beautiful blonde maiden and that the boy seems to have been washed and given new clothes for the first time that any can recall.

With little fanfare, the simple wooden casket was winched from the deck of The Lady Gin and lowerd onto a horse drawn cart at the landing in Rivermoot at dawn, 3 Kythorn. A fine blue silk pendant, lined with real silver stitched in the symbol of the Eyed Gauntlet of Helm, was draped carefully over top by a lone knight.

Holding a great polished shiled in one hand, and the reins of the horse in the other, the knight, plate mail polished to a gleam, began a slow march eastward toward Silverymoon and The House Invincible.

There is much discussion in Rivermoot concerning the execution by hanging of the drunkard farmer Luke. Most folk are quite satisfied at his passing as most can recount many occasions of unpleasant dealings with him and there is near universal condemnation of his treatment of his son.

There are a few, however, who seem a bit concerned that only two strangers stood forward to speak for Luke at his trial and say such generosity of spirit warrants reflection on the matter.

"Were the Marsharl too harsh? I canna say...but tha elven seemed to think so..."

"Aye...and the comely blond haired lass as well...*nods reflectively*...I hear she's from far south."

"Mulradi says Murtle...*nods*...canna spake proper, but now Luke's boy won't turn loose o' 'er skirts.."

"I'd hang on them skirts too if a could get a purchase!...*guffaws*"

"Go on, ye villain!...*waves hands in shooing motion*..."that maiden would have none o ye!"

"It does make ye think on it, though...*scratches chin*...here them pointers are said to be murderin folk in the Moonwood, and this one takes up fer Luke..."

"Well I heared it twer lycanthrips doin the killin, elves as well as humans"

"An who be knowing, then?...*shrugs*...I'd let that elf sit at my table any time. He's a good soul, says I"

"Oh, ho!...I'd say yer man would have somethin to say abouts that!"

"Ye figger poor Luke will be left to fall loose o' the noose? Or will someone collect his sorry carcass an' give him proper burial?"

"He can rot fer all I care...good riddance and praise Tyr's scales, says I!"

"Aye, well still...*muses*...charity is a grace an' well...someone oughter do it. Ain't right tha boy has to see his Pa hangin in the breeze..."

"Dincha hear?...Tha elf and the blonde lass took him off ter The Gem..."

A group of five consisting of a pair of elves, a man, a woman, and a gnome entered the sewers near the Brandished Blade in Silverymoon just before nightfall, and then emerged again after sunrise the next morning, caked in all manner of filth and gore and smelling quite unpleasant. While none seemed severely injured, it was clear to the casual observer that all were quite glad to be out of the sewers.

There is much gossip about Rivermoot concerning an elven legion irregular said to have slain a vicious fuffian known to many as Bart. Few know his name, it seems, but many have been heard to say he is deserving of thanks.

Due to the three waves of undead risings that have occured in the area of Rivermoot, the Argent Legion is increasing their alert for anyone assumed to or known to be a raiser of undeads or a worshipper of such supportive deities.

Thus they have called in specialists and encourage the populace NOT in attempt to interfere with Legion investigations ongoing unless prompted by the Legion.

The cave, known to contain abberations known as "Bugbears" is also off-limites without sanctioned papers from Marshall Kadellon.

A hunting party returned to Settlestone with an odd tale.

A strange tall figure was seen camping among a pack of Winter Wolves deep into the Frost Hills along the high taigia. The wolves paid him no heed and one of the hunters swore, after a long observation, he saw two small children, not much beyond babes, toddling amongst the she-wolves and their other pups, and suckling with them.

Many of the bar patrons have attributed this to possible kerosene added to "richen" the local Moonshine melange that comes in from various dubious sources.

Rumor has it that a severed, brown bear head, spiked on a rusty spear, was spotted on one of the highest ridges in fourthpeak area.
