The streets of Silverymoon have quieted down considerably the last few days. It usually takes people a while to notice such a difference, but most eventually realise the usual assortment of street urchins is gone. Parents have slowly stopped letting their children play outside too, making the change even more profound.

Word is out, the Rivermoot Militia is seeking ANY information on two missing guards from Rivermoot. They were last seen nearly a six day ago, guarding the bridge near the Rauvin River. The body of a local girl was found as well, possibly tied to a Bugbear attack. Expeditions will be formed to investigate the Bugbear caves.

They will reward ANYONE with viable information on the guards, Darner, the local girl (name will be released to family only) and the guard Private Freidrick.

Please consult with Sgt.Wilson if you have information on their whereabouts or possible dessertion.

It is whispered in hushed tones that any elves would be ill-advised to visit Quaervarr, for fear of angry lynch mobs.

three elves spent some time near and in Quaervarr apparently looking into some personal matter, they spent some time speaking with the local sergeant before heading off southwards in the direction of High Hold.

One of the Elves was recognised by many as having been in some way involved in the fighting and disruption at the inn the night before, another is rumoured to be a hero of Quaervarr known for his bold swagger and sharp wit.

It seems the ballad of Grull has become quite popular about the Inns of The Marches...one can hardly spend more than a few hours in the company of a majority human crowd before some local bard will be egged into offering a rendition. It seems the tune is sufficient catchy and amusing that most human bards try to one-up each other with their own personal "rif" on the subject.

Curiously elves and dwarves generally seem to take no amusement from the songs and often leave when the humans start singing. Here is one version heard in the Brandished Blade:
Once long ago in a Marches town, there was a big orc-blood with a scary frown, stood seven feet tall, and that's no lie, if you met him, you might die, named Grull!

Grull!

I’m singin ‘bout Grull!

A maiden kissed him and stole his purse, the legion lads saw and they did curse, but when Grull rolled o’er and they saw his staff, the lads did run and Grull did laugh…

that’s Grull!

Grull!

I’m singin ‘bout Grull!

They tried ter kill him a couple o' times, and once flogged him wif a cat-o-nines , but Grull just growled and broke his wind, and cleared the field with a stench and a grin

That’s Grull,

Grull!

I’m singin ‘bout Grull!

He once got mad at a fair elf mage, she shrunk his staff and he flew into rage, he howled at the moon and stomped his feet, and the elves all ran fer the tallest trees

That’s Grull

Grull!

I’m singin ‘bout Grull!

The Knights in Silver made a writ, it said Grull were banned and better git, they plastered his face all o'er town, but they looked so bad folk took ‘em down

That’s Grull,

Grull!

I’m singin ‘bout Grull!

The Helmites once gave Grull a shield, and hid behind him when afield, but when 'e used their helm fer a chamber pot, they asked him please to take a walk…

That’s Grull,

Grull!

I’m singin ‘bout Grull!

Well ye might be thinkin' Grull were done, but the Tempites took to him wif open arms, when they goes to fight they put Grull out front, and all their foes fall faint or run

That’s Grull,

Grull!

I’m singin ‘bout Grull!
I seek plunder....and succulent greens

[Wynna] Chula Lysander: [Talk] *Shakes head* I've been in worse situations. He was just....unjoyful! *stomps foot*

A Rivermoot fisherman by the name of Lortik Woeresil taken taken suddenly from the middle of the populated village commons in mid-day by a hunting wyveryn of great size.

The body was later recovered from a nesting spot in the hillside, but was hardly recognizable from partial digestion. The fact that the winged beast had been large enough to swallow poor Lortik whole at least made for the small blessing that his torso was able to be saved for burial.

People in the village are understandably nervous about further wyvern attacks, given that this is not the first in a number of such happenings this Spring.

Widow Woeresil was supposedly given a number of gold coins by a local clergyman to help raise their two infant children.

The Argent Legion along with an elf wearing a blue cloak with the cowl up recently fended off a band of werewolves, gnoll and lizardmen. One of the Lizardfolk was huge nearly felling the elf and one of the Legionnairs before being fended off. It is not clear if the elf somehow brought the attack of the beasts on the town but his aid was vital in the beasts not killing off all the guard.

The Spring Monsoon Season has throughly watered the Marches. Cave dwellers not only are being forced to the surface by the upsurge of underground waters but their strongest are coming out from their deepest burrows to enjoy the richness of the spring season as well as proliferate.

After two Rivermoot militia were snatched from the bridge by what was presumed to be a huge wyvern swooping down from above, a small group was dispatched by Sergeant WIlson to retrieve them.

The rescue party set out toward the Moonwood but, having become involved in an unexpectedly lengthy skirmish outside of High Hold, lost sight of the creature's flight path.

Rathalan Whitsword is now seeking trackers or woodsmen who could quide him to the wyvern nesting site in hopes that the militia can be be recovered. The Helmite Guardian has also posted notice seeking blades willing to aid in slaying the beast and culling any young.

An elven woman and a large half-orc are seen having a discussion in the Silverymoon market. No words are over-heard from the elven woman, but parts of several alarming phrases are over heard from the half-orc.

"[...] elf fire stone [...] burn the Marches to the ground [...] magic eating spider demon [...] eat all mithral in Silverymoon [...] come from elf woman stomach [...]"

There is some discussion in taverns as to what that could all mean.

A local farmer was overhead in the Bright Blades Brandished, talking with Benlan:
" I tell ya it was the strangest thing. I was layin' there last night, dead to the world. Then I feels something or someone in my room, woke me right up. Couldn't see nothin' though for all my lookin'. Anyways, soon as I laid back down and ma' head hit the pillow, someone splashes me in the face with a cup of water! Can you believe that? Still didn't see no-one, though the water was real enough. I tell ya', gotta be some kinda crackpot to break into a mans house just to splash 'im with some water. Hey, another round, yeah?

Sorlars, the Golden Oak and the Bright Blades have all reported break ins over the last few days. Nothing of value is claimed to have been stolen.

The local farmer has been overheard having further idle discussion with Benlan when things go a little quiet.
"Frightful bloody dreams they are. Keeping me up all hours I tell you. Demons and all sorts, and dragons, Dragons if you can believe it! I tell ya, if I don't get a wink of sleep soon, the missus is gonna have me sleeping on the ground, and I don't need that with the fields near ready"

The local farmer has not been seen for some days in the Bright Blades, which is rather unusual say regular patrons. It is unknown where he has been, though some whispers claim he has been rather ill, while others say it is merely his wifes bad mood that has kept him home.

Posted on a community notice board in the Markets
Dastardly Deeds and Cowardly Thieves run rampant in Silverymoon!

Down every dark alley and under every shady tree they can be found: hooded thieves of all races, plotting and scheming their next moves. Some are new, some are old hands, but what is known is this: thievery is everywhere in the Gem, and the Knights more often than not turn a blind eye! It is a disgrace!

This reporter herself was subject to wanton thievery just a few nights ago. Two hooded thieves, talking about hunting down enemies, no doubt with murder on their mind, took a break from scheming for a little casual thievery. They harried this reporter and stole everything bar the clothes on my back, all under the nose of three Knights in Silver gate guards, who seemed more amused than concerned, going so far as to joke with one of the miscreants. Disgraceful!

Fear not, dear readers. This matter will not be left to rest. The truth about these low lifes will be exposed, be they thieves or corrupt Knights.

Local farmer scared to death!

Literally! Two nights ago a local farmer, known to the regulars of the Bright Blades Brandished, was found dead in his field, his face twisted in horror. An anonymous Legion member close to the investigation has revealed the sight was so frightening they dared not let the mans wife see him. The Legion are baffled by this crime!
The report is signed: Steppi Fellowfire.

Visitors to Queavar are warned not to come down the south pass from Settlestone. Werebeasts of all sorts have beset the southern edge of the Moonwood. The fort itself is barricaded in, the stockade "closed." Travellers and merchants have been found slain in the woods as rumors of a mother dead and a foundling child. As well sightings of the red-painted Malar "beasts" have been made as far down as near the High Hold outskirts
