That would be 2-4am for Europeans.

Why not JLM's event around CT noon? which also falls on european evening, and then people from those two timezones can take part?

It's Saturday and a day off for most people , such days should be used to cover up on timezone differences.

He was referring to Vendrin's campaign at that time, Not JLM's....

Fixed.

But this is what i talked of in the other thread.

Instead of having only one group jumping from one DM event to another straight after, there should be some effort to spread those events on different times, specially during vacation days when people can be flexible with their playing times.

SO ......it seems that the Saturday evening timeframe is out (unless Ven is really burning to somehow coattail his ef campaign Sat 20th into JLM's finale....)

Trying to be a creative here.......

Maybe the "first wave" of the assault on the front of the gates coud go in the middle afternoon of Saturday the 20th, say 3-4 pm. The elves, as most other PCs, are primarily involved in that portion of the event.

Then, with some suspension of disbelief, the second wav of the "back door" could run at the expected Satruday evening time. That allows Corio to make it. IT would just require stealing Laque for a few hours from Ven. .....and if there are a smaller number of other PCs that could only make Saturday evening US, they could be shoehorned into this portion with some creative RP.

____

ALternatively, Friday in the early US eveing with a complete group start together , just one day ahead.....still bleary for euros, but likely to get a good turn out.

I frankly prefer the split session to avoid a lag fest and make it easier on the DM, but its JLMs party.

That depends on if the event really can be split, if it can, sure, but some of the planning included breaching the front door and making an alternate escape route for you guys, i guess JLM could control that action too though at a seperate time, i dunno, it depends on a lot of knowledge of the event only he has.

So my plan is to just log on like I usually do on the weekend, and if I happen to be around for this, ill make an appearance, otherwise ill give it a miss. Saturday night is sunday morning/afternoon for me due to the US being stupid far behind my timezone. What I do know, is that if any of it takes place on Sunday, I will not be there, as that is monday morning for me, which means ill be at work.

So yeah, Zal might show, or she might not.

Problem with above comment is the majority of said elves have pledged to help and taken the coin (laque included).
So it becomes a moral choice for them and shows what is more important in their heart, which works nicely since tough moral choices is exactly what Vendrins campaign has been designed to make the elves think about.

Let's try to get this off Saturday.

My mobs are behaving now, and we've been on "toon time" far too long. Hopefully Vendrin and I can smooth over any conflict so our elves can be in there also. Let's shoot for starting late afternoon/early evening CST.

Yes and no, a lot of folks have a hard time getting ANY DM time so making them choose from that perspective is a bit harsh. (thinking of us Euros on opposite time zones as per rorax's thread here)
Although the moral decision should be easy, stop the undead that would otherwise claim a lot of elven lives and damage the ideals of ancient Myth Drannor or..... not? ;)

p.s. Corellon teaches to help those in need ;)

I'm hoping no such choice will have to be made...I'll try to coordinate with Vendrin.

If you can't make the two fit, it's no biggy, we'll work out where we believe our characters should be :)

I think IC we all know which players are currently conscripted and paid to provide services for this scenario.

1. Please give us a scheduled time to log in and be at High Hold

2. Please split us into groups and send the rest to wait in IRC to preserve the server stability or even have DMs boot non-involved characters off to keep the system stable.

Remember  Lag kills.
