Live beta opens soon, but if you don't want to wait, buy a copy of soulstorm on Steam(7.95) that will get you into the beta right away.
As for how it is, never played the first one, but I am thoroughly enjoying the multiplayer aspect of the second one.

Theres actually an open beta for anyone (I just installed it)

Open beta just started a couple days ago... think on the 27th.
I dlded this, its pretty fun, very similar to Company of Heroes which I enjoyed, lack of base building is weird for me to handle...
Would enjoy playing a game or three with peoples. Have played ... 3 easy computer games so far.
