Fallout 3!!!
Re: Fallout 3!!!
Strange patch problems, when I go get a new hair-do, I cant see what it looks like anymore (nothing in preview window). Oh well, nothing says joy than using a Fat Man on an assembled crowd below in Paradice City. Railway rifle is pretty cool too. Not a lot of damage, but cool limbs stuck to walls. Gohd this game is evil

I had to reinstall after the patch made the game crash silly. Picked up some Power Armor but don't have training to wear it so where can I get it?? Overall, minus the bugs, shitty movement and combat animations the game is fun and growing on me. Would love to see an expansion pack at some point.

That's the interesting thing...objectively, i'd have to say the game has become rather repetitive now that i'm in my 30th hour of play, but I keep playing...its like an old comfortable shoe or something.

I've stopped playing, waiting until a patch comes out to fix up the freeze/crash problem I'm having. In the mean time I noticed Mount & Blade finally got finished and I've been playing that a lot.

Stopped mess'n around with the side quests and finished the main quest which ended the game for me. Unless I go way back. Probally got half of it explored. The ending was so so for me. I've seen better. Didnt read any docs or player guides. When you get to level 20 it's all you wrote for gaining additional perks and skills so choose em wisely. I found it hard at 20 to explore more if only for ammo and bottlecaps.

Re: Fallout 3!!!
yeah, i'm only lvl 14 and have decided loot-scouring is tedious and unnecessary. Maybe I'll run out of something to the point I feel I need to look for more eventually.

You get powered armor training during the main quest. It's well before the end, so you can safely go for it and still explore.MorbidKate wrote:I had to reinstall after the patch made the game crash silly. Wondering if someone is going to figure out how to mod that...Electryc wrote:When you get to level 20 it's all you wrote for gaining additional perks and skills so choose em wisely.

Re: Fallout 3!!!
Haven´t tested yet myself, either, but I recall I read from official forums that it had some glitches. Mainly something about game crashing if you have good karma when getting lvl21 or something like that and getting stuck on lvl up screen if you have max´d all skills.
I´m lvl15 and haven´t been to Jefferson monument yet, so might be I´ll give it a try eventually.
I hope someone would make a mod to make the skills behave like in FO2 where (I think) the limit was 250, but getting higher on skills costed more points eventually.

I have a mod, but haven't gotten high enough level to confirm if it works or not. Major bug is the game crashes if you're evil, so I saved it for this good replay.NickD wrote:Wondering if someone is going to figure out how to mod that...Electryc wrote:When you get to level 20 it's all you wrote for gaining additional perks and skills so choose em wisely.

Re: Fallout 3!!!
I've started playing again using some mods, and it's been much better so far. I'll go ahead and link to some of the more worthwhile ones. You'll probably have to sign up for an account at http://www.fallout3nexus.com to view a couple of them, but it's a quick process.
Item Descriptions - Provides a bit of flavor text for most items.
Descriptions spell-checked - Fixes a few typos for the previous.
Better Pacing - Cuts back on combat, hacking, and lockpicking XP so you actually have to explore quite a bit to hit 20. Also increases movement speed 10%.
Slower Item Degradation - Reduces weapon/armor decay by either 50 or 70 percent, cutting down on the tedium of having to tinker with your combat shotgun after every other firefight.
Killable Children - Eat shit and die, Mayor MacCready.
VATS MCE - Makes weapon skill play a bigger part in your VATS accuracy. Also gets rid of the absurd VATS weapon decay.
X-Repair Weapons - Fix weapons with similar ones, scrap metal, and wrenches. And custom weapons can be repaired using the components they're made of.
Armor Cross-Repair - Fix armor with similar armor and scrap metal.
No Radio Static - Now you'll actually be able to hear the music played through your Pip-boy!
Music from Fallout 1 & 2 - The ambient music of the previous games becomes the ambient music of Fallout 3. Very nice.
Quieter Dogmeat - Pretty self-explanatory.
Classical Books - Will change the burnt, ruined, and pre-war books to real ones like 1982, Fahrenheit 451, and Of Mice and Men.
Enhanced Night Sky - Makes the night sky look a hell of a lot nicer.
Better Moon - Makes the moon look a bit nicer. Goes well with Enhanced Night Sky.
Hi-res weapons - Makes it so weapons in the world use the high-resolution "equipped" models instead of the default ones.
Pyromaniac Fix - Makes it so Pyromaniac works with the unique flamethrower.
Gore Tweaks - Increase or decrease the odds of dismemberment and bodily explosions as you prefer.
