The module is ready; its HDM was rejected.

So no.

Really? It's nice that we have so many people jumping up and down, begging to contribute that we're actually turning them down. Oh wait...

Ithink since Zelknolf took it upon herself to do all the work getting it back up to speed and running, offering to host, and there lack of anyone else's vocal interest to be the HDM, her understanding was that she was to be the HDM.

But I think someone was afraid if she was the HDM, somehow she would break ALFA.

Someone should have probably said something before she went through the trouble then. At the very least.

Should have, but didn't. I was, instead, informed that things "might" not turn out well after the server was ready and had been sitting unreviewed for three weeks followed a week later by being informed that I wasn't to be HDM.

As dergon says, there may be other solutions; the module is on the DM FTP. It needs someone else to run it. It just won't be me. I'm not going to push, demand votes, try to rally a rebellion or any such nonsense. I've just stopped working for ALFA, and hope that everyone understands when I say I can't handle the B.S. anymore.

So okay...I /was/ planning on building a server for ALFA, and I honestly don't care about being an HDM...but...I mean is this really how that works?

You could go through a bunch of work to build a new server and/or refurbish an old one...and then be told that Admin doesn't want you to have the responsibility, authority of an HDM so thanks for your time...

I cannot believe that is really what happened. There must be some misunderstanding???

Zelk how did the Admin tell you? Was it like a vote?

FWIW I am not a Zelk fan by any means, but if this is accurate, it really is like the last nail in the coffin for me. I don't understand why things always seem to get like this here, but I am tired of it...

:wall:

Either Admin is f-ed up or Zelk is...hopefully its just some misunderstanding...

Usually, the way to become a HDM is to apply for it.

I don't know much about this particular incident though.

Obviously, if one starts working on a project on ones own accord, before an application for HDM-ship goes through, that's all fine, but starting work on a project doesn't automatically make you a HDM.

Also, there are no huge differences between the titles anyway, other than some additional voting.

As far as I know (i might be wrong), no official review of a HDM app by zelk was ever completed. To my understanding, zelk retracted the application as well as the offer to rebuild and host WD before hand. Thus any reason she may have had were never caused by an official notice on HDMship from admin, but rather more likely took place 'unofficially' between the various parties through PMs or chat or the like.

I'm sure ayergo can shed some light on this if I'm wrong here.

Oh yeah, now I remember why I quit HDM'ing Daggerdale.

Thanks for the quarterly reminders people!
