Schedualed vault downtime due to server change

Guys,

Going to have to take down the vault-server soon to move it to a new box.
I will post again in this thread when i have the exact time and date.

The whole ordeal will take between 2 and 8 hours, depending on the DNS settings on each hosts ISP's DNS servers.

Hosters will not have to make any changes to their servers, as we keep the same hostnames and username/passwords.

This change affects both nwn1 and nwn2 vaults.

You guys can start logging out of the servers etc now, to make sure you don't lose any progress etc. Will be taking stuff down shortly.

Everything is now moved over, and the domain name has been updated. Please let me know if there are any issues.

I realize the NWN1 crowd were still using alfavault.servegame.org to connect, rather than vault.alandfaraway.org

I made a few changes, and both should work right now. If you're a NWN hosting and reading this, it wouldn't hurt to change your settings to vault.alandfaraway.org, as that is the main hostname we are going to be using now and in the future.

Again, both are working fine now.

Sounds like there is a problem with Linux servers connecting to the new Vault. I'll try to connect after I hear its been sorted out. (Drop a note to Chamu)

Shadowdale looks like it is still connected to the old Vault at the moment.

I have not heard anything from anyone about problems. Where is this information ? What are the specifics ? When were things attempted.

Both netdrive and SHFS has been tested successfully.

There was a post earlier today in the NC forum that there was no vault, and Nalo canceled his session due to no vault...however I do see my player vault at the time of this post so either the issue is fixed or there's only an issue for some.

NC, SD and Sembia are all up

SD is on the vault, but it's taking over 1 minute to get data from it.
The connection is very slow for some reason.

Update:
It's taking over 1 minute to read a directory if I'm viewing the vault from the SD server.

If I'm trying to login with the NWN client the wait is longer. I waited six minutes before giving up and never saw my vault.

I guess we'll sort this out in the next day or two. Stay tuned folks.

Ok, after tweaking how we're connecting to the vault it seems to have been resolved for the moment. Maybe 10-15 seconds to see the vault when logging in as a Player.
