I can do part of the Shade war (some of the battles around Silverymoon) and of course, I can do the underdark/drow and "war of the spider queen" parts - we played through ALFA's version of war of the spider queen, and I (and Zak and others) were central in it. I suppose I would frame it as an interview by your Marco Volo type person (or an affiliate) with my PC (as she saw all the events and survived them).

Would shey talk to Tottespeil? because he talks to everyone, embellishing the story as he retells it :P

Shey has spoken to Tottspiel - he even wrote a poem/song for her. But yes, the plain answer is that she would, indeed, tell the tale of the war to him.

I know the Shade war pretty well for some reason, so I could handle the lion's share of that. And wherever someone's writing a PC perspective, I can stick to NPC stuff that you never saw.

precisely the point I was trying to make. there is no lack of resources for getting stories.

what I need are the stories from said perspectives. then I can tie them together into something coherent and, I pray, interesting.

GF_ that would be kickassed.

Fair enough - I can write up some answers to questions I think Tottespiel would ask, or you can PM me Tottespiel's questions (probably the better choice), or, whatever. Happy to help.

Tottespiel would open with a vague question and let the PCs talk from there, leaving his personal opinions and interests private.

this goes for all the nameless story-collecting agents.

your first offer would actually be best, Mikayla. I haven't the time or energy to to do a RP-by-post/PM/whatever for every potential interview. This particular project is stretching my resources thin as is.

If someone wants their story and perspective to be involved, send it to my PM box. otherwise, I'll have to skip it altogether.

Do you have a length in mind? A min/max word count?

Hig would be happy to add in what he knows of the Shade War, I imagine. Although he'd have to leave out a couple bits too. LOL.

My apologies for having gone quiet on this, it has been an odd past 2 weeks. I'm still onto this though, I have the shape and bones and exacts of the story figured out now, just haven't had a chance to write it out yet. Thanks all for the feedback and offers of help, you'll hear more on this.

Awhile back i tried the NWConnections thing along with ALFA. My hardship was having people want to participate in the campaign i presented, but not being part of ALFA... thus they had to be accepted into ALFA, which at that time took too long and the campaign went by before they were accepted.

If such things as NWConnections are going to be used, the campaigns need to be set in the OAS. If, during that time, the participants are found to be less than desirable, they won't be admitted. Otherwise, they'll receive a PM inviting them into ALFA. In this same line, all DMs need to have access to the OAS, so they can setup something like this without additional preparations.

The best means to make anything work for a large group of diverse people, is to simplify & streamline the process.

Again I'm with WW. I almost didn't join because even figuring out HOW to apply on this website, let alone following the links to the app (some of which are broken), filling the whole darn thing out and waiting a few days to a week for approval - THEN downloading everything - omg.

At least, I'd stick a big banner across the top of the site that says CLICK HERE TO JOIN that takes you right to the app.

LOL - You sum it all up. The annoying factor of finding everything.

That is exactly what we'll do with the new site.
