Can you be more specific? It's possible to work at reduced scale and I have a very rough encounter system working if that's what you mean..

Here's the quote that states the devs of Obsidian see no issues with such maps being worked on now:
Start working on it now. You can use any of the released screenshots of the overland map as a guide for scale.

The base of our overland map is simply the largest exterior area.
Suggested region:

I've got some ftp problems and I have to go shopping, so sorry about ther map. Teric, I was thinking about adopting the new Overland Map system developed by Obsidian for their November expansion.

Map is up. If we could have a server that linked each of the TSM, BG, WH and WD servers, Faeyrl's UD, and a long arm across the desert to Thangorn's Moonsea, we'd have a decent setup that was flexible and hopefully met player expectations of travel.

Here's a 2x2 region that I've just created in YATT.

Image

The 4 areas are 24x24 and look like a solid representation of the region at a mini scale.

In the interests of momentum, I'm going to start :)

I'll post screens as I go and will gladly embrace suggestions as they come.

Ah. I see. I'm afraid I have to be Mr Hardface and ask, "Why Bother?". Baldur's Gate, Heartlands, Waterdeep and Silver Marches are already contiguous and most of the bottom half of that map is within "my" server and I'm already dealing with it by using scaled-down areas for travel between areas of interest. There are also the hosting and DMing issues to consider when we already seem to be at the limit of our resources.

If you're looking for another big project perhaps TSM Part 2 would be more appropriate joining the existing server to Waterdeep?

I'm sorry to be negative but this looks like a white elephant...

I'll just potter away on 04 then. I'll ask Ayergo if he minds. At this stage I just can't find the will to build more disparate areas...I need a single project or I just eke away.

It's basically the area I've made anyway. I'll simply cut off the bottom half of the southern 2 areas.

Indio, you are awesome. RL has me tied up, but we sure could use another NWN2 live server. I am sure Ayergo would appreciate anything you could do to get Baldur's Gate live.

HAY Indio.. make an account here so I can show you the YATT map I have that matches what you are trying to do for the west coast of FAerun.. I'd love it if you worked on the Western Moonsea travel map..
