I have not logged on since the update, but would it be possible to apply the new morale scripts to just the predatory type animals (and creature mobs of course), and only to the prey or herd type animals if they are first attcked?

In other words, rabbits, horse, deer etc are not hostile unless attacked. Then if they are attacked the morale script kicks in, while predators like wolves, lions, boar and the like are always hostile and always use the morale scripts.

As Asura said, for nature types like druids and rangers, we enjoy RPing protection and harmony with the friendly type animals, and we largely avoid confrontation with the predatory ones giving them a wide berth. The script would be awesome as to the predators, because previously if you got too close and they attacked you had no choice but to kill them or run away. Now if you hit them and they run away you can at least let them be. If a DM is on you can even RP healing them =)

Don't know if this would work but I'm sure Teric would know :D

As a non caring small creature hunter (i kill rabbits with ninja stars) the script is the only thing that gives the creatures a chance, they are smart to run at te first sight of a two legs, because even with the weakest weapon in the book, one shot is usually enough to finish it, so turning hostile after the attack is of little use.

Perhaps what needs to be done is all the tree hugger types hould have their faction changed to that of the animals, if the faction script is in use.

I think they're great and witha little fine tuning i think will work out fine. Thanks for the hard work.

And on that fine tuning i'd suggest:
- making 'beasts' not subject to it (as i think all those animals mentioned above are 'beasts'?)

- Upping...or lowering the DC. This is the SAVAGE frontier, and most things are hardcore! If i see a pack of Black Raven (or any tribe) of Uthgardt's run away i might cry

As an aside:
The swamp baroness. The Walmesh id odd and the areas VERY laggy. Plus they ran away from us which was suprising seeing we're level 1, 2 and 3 (only thing that kept one or two of us alive due to OOC walkmesh/lag issues)

Thanks for the Rhyster Martins Rooms!!!!!

Many of the dialogues now broadcast throughout the area. I've heard players talking to questgivers on the opposite side of Silverymoon and people chatting with merchants on the other side of the river.

I recieved the Scolton Thonging quest and it updated my journal.
I found the person with the thonging and got it back which updated my inventory with the Thonging and my Quest Journal.
When I returned to Scolton with the Thonging though he fired off the same scripted that he did before I took the quest with no conversational options to finish the quest.

Not sure if it matters but I used the Diplomacy option to get the Thonging back.

Edit: I tried speaking to him a fourth time and the finish the quest conversation fired correctly.

The Kheuveray / Waydeka quest does not progress in the dialogue with Waydeka, no matter whether you choose sleight of hand or diplomacy.
The power of concealment lies in revelation.

While doing the Tribes quest last night the two large groups of humanoids (gnolls and orcs) could not make their mind up whether to run away or attack our party of three. I imagine this is morale-script related. Given that they outnumbered us so severely I don't see why they would have run (it was at least a 2:1 ratio).

While the morale script is a good idea in theory, in this case it made a difficult challenge far easier than it should have been.

A few random thoughts on the morale script (as I am "to blame").

One of the main switches in the script is that creatures can be set to always flee, which I think is correct for most non-predatory animals, even around druids. Part of the thinking behind this is to make hunting (there, I've said it) possible.

Try and ignore the Hostile thing. To calculate relative sizes of the creatures and PC party requires adding up numbers in the creature faction, hence why everything is a "psycho bunny". If a creature that ought to flee attacks you it is a bug, but not my bug, I think. Sometimes creatures' OnPerception events don't seem to happen properly.

I am, I'm afraid, strongly in favour of low level humanoids running away rather than being kamikaze. Again the logic behind it is that you are likely to be attacked when the creature "thinks" they have a chance of winning. Like if you're soloing, for example.

@ Asura King. The animal companion going after hostile animals problem is one I simply didn't think of. Sorry.

@ TSM DMs. As an aside you may want to crank up the perception range for spawns. The default for most things is medium, I think. I have most of mine turned up to Long. I have heard reports that turning it to PC is bugged, but cannot confirm this. This gives the animals chance to leg it even earlier :)

As mentioned before the morale script takes no consideration of PC levels. How would they know? To a bunch of goblins Elminster is an old guy alone on the road.

Apologies if the system is spoiling your fun, it is an honest attempt to turn the reality factor up a bit,

To praise, you mean. I think this system is fab. I'm also a fan of things running away. Let me think about animal companions attacking. That can maybe be gotten around with some fancy scripting. Maybe not. But maybe. I'll also look at perceptions on critters.

Thank you, Teric.

Also, I'll check out those two flavor statics and Silvy dialogs. Since I didn't touch any dialogs in Silvy, that one has me puzzled.
Enjoy the game

lulz, here's your next list Wynna... ;P

STORES!

All of the Legion stores (Rivermoot, Quarv., High Hold, Rauvenwatch) are most likely still broken, having given up my malitia Badge ICLY, probably best that is verified.

Rauvenwatch - Outfitters and Malitia -
Bolts are listed for sale as 5 gp, but actually bought for 1 gp.

Ironsheilds Armour - Silverymoon
50% buyback. Not sure if it is supposed to be that high...
Buys equipment other than armour, such as lanterns ect.

High Hold
Both Kogi and Ariadis stores broken
Tiarix - not buying back equipment she sells that has a buyback price. (headgear)

The old threads are still being kept in another forum.

Since the Almighty Wynna in her great and powerful awesomeness is guru of all that is scripting and stores, I thought I'd put those up for her to take a look at. WE LOVE YOU WYNNA!!!!!!! :D
