Dealing with the Lycanthrope Threat

Post by Vendrin »

Numerous pieces of parchment have been nailed into place in numerous places in High Hold, Quervaar and Winter's Edge. The writing upon them is precise and at the bottom right is a black wax seal with the symbol of a spiked Iron Gauntlet closed in a fist.

Now that certain matters have been resolved, my attention can return to true objects of importance. It has come to my attention that beasts of Malar and his followers have begun to plague innocents and travelers in the Moonwood. The Argent Legion is concerned with other matters it seems, as such I will be assembling a company consisting of those willing to do what must be done to purge the land of the chaos and disease these werebeasts represent.

Any willing to do their duty to help destroy chaos will be welcome, and I can provide a small group with silvered weapons for the duration of the Lycanthrope threat. For those motivated by less then honorable desires, I am also willing to hire a select few mercenaries if they have the needed skills I see necessary for this mission, specifically any skilled trackers.

To those who proclaim themselves my enemy, I reiterate once more I have no interest in destroying the Laws you uphold or the people you protect, and if you aid me instead of work against me, we can do much to protect this land, but if you will not aid me, do not interfere.

To those who are interested, you may contact me or assemble at the Whistling Stag in Quervaar.

-Barid Mosinel
Priest of Bane

OOC: Gathering and initial hunt will take place next thursday. Exact time will be forthcoming by paazin. There will be a limit on how many people are allowed to come with Barid, probably 8 at the max, sorry but I don't want the server crashing during this event again. Preference will be given to those with a past history of association with Barid or specific use.

And an ooc message to the goodies, please don't try to steal this quest from me like you have with a certain event I won't name. You are more then welcome to come as it will make an interesting event, but you guys get more dm time then me as it is already and in those you won't let me participate, so let me have my fun eh?

((ooc reply: Any chance you can make it other than Thursday night? That has been our scheduled campaign time for a few weeks now.))

((OOC reply: As much as Lem would love to go, just on the off chance he might get to see Barid get gnawed to bits by a Malarbeast or werewolf, between his current orders and your plea, I will be avoiding Quarvarr like the plague. I quite concur that you are due your own DM time and deserve the chance, like any other player/faction leader, to have your own quest from start to finish. Again, personally, I wish you great success. Lem, on the other hand has a message for you :plzdie: ))
<paazin> Elves I bet are kinda fun to play.

And mine for quite a bit longer. I have no problem with changing the day to a monday, or friday it's simply up to Paazin.

((bleh, forget about the changing of times. I figured it'd be easier all around, as we couldn't simply sit around idly IC and not do anything about it ;)

It could work out though as we'll be busy with our own campaign at the same time. Good to see you getting your own DM time in.))

*seeing all the posters tacked up around Quaervarr, Thoron asks one of the Legion guards to read it to him* As he afterwards stalks off into the wood he can be heard muttering "They'd best confine their hunt to Malarites and weremen *grumble, grumble, grumble* any innocent beasts slaughtered will have to be answered for *grumble* and Leaflord help them if they harm the forest."

((OOC Have fun with this Ven. A few of us actually participated in a quest with WW regarding malarites and weremen, and I assumed this was a continuation of that. Is it DMs? I'd be happy to stand back and let the banites have some fun, and certainly did not intend to step into your quest or DM time the other night. Unless you would perhaps like some action between factions related to the quest *points up* Otherwise have fun. Realize though that the rangers patrolling the woods in this area would certainly be involved in this IC and many would not ICly team up with banites. :) ))

*A note written in very sloppy common is left at one of the posters in Quaervarr*

I will help you to defeat the common enemy, but keep in mind i do not do it to help in the name of Bane or to help you. I will be coming so that the Malarites don't end up trapping you with their knowledge of the forest and turning you into lycanthropes as well. I am skilled with tracking and will help serve as the tracker and guide on this hunt.

*instead of a signature there's a bear paw print with an F in the center of it*

((actually i'm not sure i'll be here to come on this little hunt))

As Paazin hasn't gotten back to me, this is unlikely to occur this thursday, I'll probably be in game if people want to sign up.

Oh! Er... missed this thread. Had little to no internet last week but this Friday is a-go. Planning to start at 8 PM EST till who knows.
People talk of bestial cruelty, but that's a great injustice and insult to the beasts; a beast can never be so cruel as man, so artistically cruel.

Devon has read the notes with interest and is pondering the opportunities.

Sadly that´s 4am for me with quick calculation and I can´t avoid working at Sat, so no-show for me...

How many merry men does Barid have? Better yet, does he need more?

Don't know if I should show up with only an hour and a half before needing to go.
