I won't be commenting on this topic again.
Good to know concerns of your constituency mean so much.

Nice goad, Vendrin. Very well I'll bite.

I've been commenting so frequently because they do mean so much.

There are 3 other Admin (TA is new since this policy) and 5 HDMs who helped to make this policy a reality who can answer further questions/comments, if they so choose. I choose not to anymore because at this point we're on a carousel.
Currently otherwise occupied.

As you see Ven no-one has posted in the PA nomination thread.

This job is a very tough one, let's not burn FI more.
She is a very good PA and I hope she'll run again.

I personally hope FI doesn't run again. Why? Because I don't want this community to run off another self-sacrificing team member who has patience and dedication akin to Ghandi.

Thanks from me goes to Hialmar, FI and all of the others; HDMs, paaz, spider, Danubus, etc. They are just trying to make this a better place for everyone to be a member of.

That's how I see it, anyway.

Perhaps one of those people should have asked the members then about their thoughts?

I would post a lolcat to ease the tension in this thread, but they are banned. So, all I have left that hasn't been banned yet is asian kitty emoticons that make no sense.

Vendrin,

I have been potrayed as a whiner or irritatingly persistent about "getting my way" or getting the response I wanted...

You are obviously not getting what you want, maybe your own advice of just "accepting the response given", will serve you in this situation.

FI has a very valid point, Admin should stick to their decisions or else they would spend way to much time making adjustments to plans VS actually doing something.

The suggestion Swift and I posted was turned down.

The reasons...

They do not want a lot of red tape that would delay temp bans.

They do not want to complicate the process by allowing some posts to go un-moderated.

I think they have adequatley explained their position.

No one is "entitled" to have the freedom to insult / belittle anyone...they are bringing the hammer down. I respect that.

I didn't catch what you wanted changed though... its obvious you are displeased, but I am not sure what you would like to see done differently?

Not that it actually matters, because you are not in a position to make policy, any more than Swift and I were...but it wouldn't hurt to share your ideas/opinions, rather than just your unexplained disapproval.

Just don't get mad if they don't like your idea.

I'm sure he'd respond if he said this it would get moderated....

My only problem with the moderation rules is that they seem to apply unevenly and have served to empower a few individuals to be rude without constraint.

The source of a discussion or debate should not be the point. It should be the material of the discussion. This continuing finger pointing, saying "well, look who is doing the talking... of course we should ignore it" is a constant problem here in ALFA... where Ad Hominems and other fallacious reasonings take precedence over logical examination of the information presented.

Then again, other problems are the system of delivery and the manner in which said deliveries are presented. These only foster the tendency for people to travel the route of fallacious reasoning. Sticking to logical examination relies heavily on putting emotions aside, from all sides.

But damn it's hard to temper your emotions, when you're constantly being treated like crap and/or called a liar (either to your face, or to third parties).

Actually it's called reputation, and it tends to be earned. Reputation is what others think of you, and has far more impact than alignment. ;)

BTW, implying ALFA is full of people with fallacious reasoning is an attack on the whole community, in violation of the Charter on Conduct. It's something you seem to do a lot. Of course, it doesn't get moderated as long as it comes from you, so fire away at will. *shrugs*

And I am now reminded of exactly why past moderation attempts failed: A combination of overzealousness and favoritism. I'm not sure how anonymity or admin and HDM support are going to change that part. Of course Swift pointed this out almost immediately.

What we need is Jayde to become Lead, then ALFA would just turn into a big dance party!
