Question to admin

Post by Dorn »

Hello admin/fearless leaders,

I was wondering if we might be able to have a response to suggestions in this thread from the appropriate admin and/or nominated senior staff.

Even if its as simple as a yes/no/poll community/we will discuss in admin forum. But potentially with a few words of justification/background.

Pro's
1) It would stop lots of discussions/conflict (that can go off topic) trying to say what ALFA's position is on something when that person defining ALFA position often has littel or no role in defining that position, but rather has a view. As elected admin to provide direction to this community you yourselves have that dubious honour.

2) It would provide clear precedence for future admin to consider/disagree with issues, or for yourselves to alter previous decisions with appropriate justification. I dont believe there are things such as 'dead horses'. Of the admin today there were few that were even joined to ALFA when some of these Deadhorse were estbalished, and the players/DMs have changed lots as well. So even if one of you can respond with a 'no' or a link to a previous 'no' that woudl be ok.

3) The community could get an improved guage on our leaderships.

COns:
1) Probably means more time from yourselves and i'm not sure if we can expect that. If this is a reason for not donig so then i'm more than ahppy with that. I have an inkling as to the time you guys put in and it IS a volunteer community which is NOT falling apart as some might say so this is not an absolutely essential activity.

This is not a criticism BTW. I think you've been fairly clear on things in other forums and i think the open Admin debates are fantastic. It's just that often suggestions by new (or old) members are shut down (rightfully) due to flaming or off topic things with littel or no resolution exceopt fot the fact we've established there are some comflicting views between us rabble.

Anyways, a thought.

please note this was directed at Admins not my fellow plebs.

with assumptions making asses if us and them... or however the saying goes ;) , could you please clarify which thread? I've got an idea... but on face value, this request is a bit vague.

I was actually referring to the 'NWN2: brainstorming' thread Misty.

Becasue this is where lot's of suggestions i read are raised.

In hindsight suggestions are also in general discussion i guess, particularly in light of the recent suggestions for nwn1 platform changes.

Maybe a brainstorming/suggestions thread regardless of platform?
Maybe it's too much work *shrugs*

I think this is a wonderful idea. Another benefit is that it will promote more involvement by the community and improve morale if they believe their suggestions are being considered and acted upon by admin. Whether the suggestions are adopted is not so important as whether they are considered and a decision is made on them.
