Bonding (15Jul08 10:37 AM Local)

Nyka hated the school. The other students ridiculed her, mocked her hair, her manners at the dinner tables, her work off hours for the guard (anther source of grief). It wasn't what she thought it would be like...

It was quiet on the hill overlooking the moon bridge. Breath taking, the view was to the Halfling. 'Lekus' she said with reverence. She wanted to do that. to create something wonderful. Not what she could do now, make force of her anger and fling it her foes (though she learned quickly her power did harm to those foes she battled, she learned to understand her limits, too) or briefly tower among her peers, sacrificing grace for muscle mass. Among the minor talents (that made an extra bit of coin) she grasped since joining the Lady's School of 'Lekus!', that her pinky made ales very cold indeed.

She was grinning wide in that memory when she hissed suddenly, her hand whipping away from the grass. There, right next to her, was a silver hare, big as her thigh. The rabbit continued to nibble around her, unperturbed by Nyka's distress. 'Hebbah!’ chirped the hin. She reached over and placed the rabbit in her lap (he didn't resist, in fact he dropped right in place). Now her smile wide as the moon above, Nyka started to pet the animal, the bonding complete....

Still down. Im sure Donrath will make a post when its back up. We should also try and nail down alternative ideas here about hosting. Don has been great at helping ALFA out with hosting the server, but no one has anyway to contact him other than Pms or email im sure. If hes gone for long periods of time then our NWN2 side comes to a halt like this and a lot of people get antsy. Something will just have to be worked out so downtime like this wont occur.

How about a new rule, hosts can never leave the side of their comp.

I should qualify this- if we did switch to a temporary host, we'd be looking at a pretty significant rollback of the character vault and unavailability of p-storage until/unless we get those files back off Donrath's machine. This is a huge headache, and then a second huge headache when the files are once again available. So, I would certainly advise against it for now, and counsel more patience and time invested in exploring and giving feedback on the Beta servers. I can try to get an alternate Worldgate config with all the Beta Server PWCs included up tonight to facilitate that.

I'd settle for hosts giving admin their phone numbers so we can determine if Donrath has in fact died, been imprisoned, abducted by aliens, shipped off to war, and we are not just waiting in vain. Or perhaps remote backing up the server mod and vault say.. every two or three days to a computer which does have access remotely for staff? Not meaning to sound selfish, but I want my MTV!

Well, Darren certainly isn't standing still during this downtime. He's been working hard on fixing the road to Felbarr and I've worked with him to provide the players with a brand new Citadel Felbarr that's to canon and reflective of the ALFA year. Thanks to AL, now that we have the RWS Pocket Citadel tileset in work is already well underway on a brand new Felbarr interior that will be begging for plot hooks.

I know others are also hard at work on content so maybe this would be a good opportunity to post up teasers about what's coming?

Taverns, Inns and... yeah that´s right! Taverns.

I am currently working on two taverns for Silverymoon. "Sorlars smiling Satyr" is almost ready. If the Felbar crew is interessted I´d be glad to make one for them dorfs as well.

Think I remember this place from NWN1!
