PC Tools & NWN2

Post by wvincenti »

How does one set up the custom buttons in the PC Tools?
I can't find any instructions with the file or in the little module that comes with them.
Is there a way to modify what appears in those buttons as a Player?

I don't think so. I think those are there to accommodate custom buttons/functionality for projects/PWs.

Yes, the custom buttons hook into a server-side script. What are configurable by players are the macros and timers, also in PC tools.

Also, if there are popular requests for PC tools buttons, we can add more that are of general use.

Can you move close doors to page one?

Page 1 and 2 are "self only" while 3 and 4 are target-able buttons. That's just how the thing's designed. I could try shifting the code around, but most of my XML editing adventures have been exercises in frustration.

I would really like 'possess' and 'unpossess' as quick buttons on the tools. too much clicking when i want to switch back and forth between NPCs.

You can drag Possess, Jump, Kill, Limbo, and a bunch of others to your Quickbar from the Chooser sub-menu. Unfortunately, your Quickbars go blank when you Possess something. It is hoped that this will be fixed in some future Patch to the game.

There are any number of DM functions that don't work while possessing a creature - Give XP, for one, and the PC Tools emotes, for another frustrating instance.

Aye Curmudgeon, that was one of the reasons i wanted it added to the PC tools. That it disappears from the quickbar when you possess an NPC is not going to be resolved, since quickbar info is associated with the NPC/PC, and not the player account. The PC tools, however, is associated with the player account, and thus a good tool to address these things. If we can have the DM commands we 'want' to be able to use, while possessing an NPC, installed as a custom button in the PC tools, we will have resolved this issue.
