Pictures in conversations

Post by Teric neDhalir »

Hi,
I found a neat little trick in the toolset last night. In a conversation node under the "node" tab there is an option in the "behaviour" section called "TGA to display". What this does is replace the normal cutscene window with the picture (Targa format) that you define (You would have to save the pic to your mod directory, I guess). So if you want a Basil Exposition moment and show the player a map/diagram/whatever that's how to do it. I've not experimented with sizes etc but a quick test suggests that any pic used is scaled to the screen size - remember that the top and bottom will be cut off by the "letterboxing" effect of the conversation screen.

I should mention that it's since been pointed out to me that using "cinematic" type conversations could be a reason for turning DM invisibility off. Which is a PITA.
