Rumors around the High hold
According to some commoners there were a "discussion" between a tall blond woman and a man about gods and faith. Some even say the guards had to deal with it.
Others say there were just two merchants talking about the size of the fish caught in the river during the latest fullmoon.

The funeral cortage for Battle Priest Aries Morgan was a solemn affair. He was carried in state down from the hills where he fell. It was said by his secretary, Brother Darius, that the great man had charged a huge group of orcs exiting from a fresh tunnel mouth they had just completed digging. "The tunnel led from the foul creatures' main camp to a hillside all too close to the innocent hamlet of Rivermoot," said the grieving Helmite. "My lord threw himself bodily into the cave mouth among the foe, with glory to Torm and Helm on his lips and his mace in his hand. He died as he lived -- fighting for Vigilance. He is with his god now, and we would not think of calling him back from that reward."
The cortage procession left for Silverymoon with the dawn, where the great man will be interred with his brothers and sisters of House Invincible.

An eerie silence has descended on the territory previously occupied by orcs, both around Rivermoot and further north, past Fourthpeak Fort. The few orcs encountered are scattered, and seem to be running. Rumor spread by those stationed at Fourthpeak Fort has it that the screams and cries of a huge action drifted up to them on their protected position, coming from somewhere in the forested cliffs below.
After the silence fell, it is said that scouts from the fort came across a scene of devastation on a plateau back from some sheer cliffs. Orcs had been slaughtered, in sobering numbers. What was sobering was not how many orcs had died, but how many orcs had been there to be killed. An investigation has been launched by the Legion to determine how such a camp of orc could have gathered so close to civilized lands, without warning. Whispers about the apparently disgraced Lt. Silverblade of Rivermoot circulate that he will take the blame for this, as well as for the death of the Battle Priest Aries Morgan of House Invincible.

The greatly talented and famous (according to himself) bard, Ashanan has finally arrived in Rivermoot. He has been seen chatting to the more attractive serving maids and other young ladies about the town. He has also been seen wandering around the town square, strumming his brand new looking lute and singing verses to himself, apparently writing a new song as he walks. Rumour has it, he is available to write songs and poems on commission.
[OOC: This is my first bard (not counting my first ALFA character that lasted about 10 minutes, who was meant to be more of a storyteller than a musician anyway) and I am by no means a song writer. So, when I write a song for someone, I roll a perform check afterwards to see how good the song it is, and a different perform check when performing to see how well it is performed... unless there is another rule for handling this sort of thing?]

[OoC: Dunno. Personally, I've always said that if you are going to be rolling dice at
all, you should roll them before the roleplay and then adjust your RP
to suit the roll. This way everything runs smoothly and there are no
contradictions.]
Talk around Rivermoot and High Hold have it that a strange insignia of a blue tusk on a small leather patch can be seen worn by civilians who took part in the recent engagement with the multitude of orcs.

A march of bereavement was held for the slippery and cheeky Camerion. It was said that Farran alone carried the fallen body of Camerion from High Hold to Rivermoot's tombs, while a procession of warriors and adventures walked along side in respect. It is rumored that Camerion's body was found with a large bite wound across his throat and arms. His loss will be difficult for the area to bear.

And once again...A strapping blond man in the cloak of a member of the joint forces of Helm, Torm and the Red Knight can be seen gathering all manner of oddments and binding them together to form rough manequin-like figures. As each is finished, he binds it all together in a stout leather hide and attaches the construct to trees, empty barrels or poles pounded into the earth in a staggered formation near the bank of the river across from Rivermoot, near foot of the bridge leading westward, out of town toward Nesme.
Several more of these make-shift targets and dummies are scattered around at different heights, and even in among the trees leading toward the Dogleg Dell. Discarded, rusty weapons and even an occassional half-rotted shield are attached to some of these dummies to make them look more realistic, but in such a way that they can be "disarmed" by one skilled in such methods of fighting.
