Vendrin,
Thank you very much for your input to the conversation we needed to have on electing our new Lead Admin. While you weren't elected, I wanted you to know that your dedication and thoughtful platform was truly appreciated.
When someone is vocal on the forums, they tend to attract a lot of heat from people who think differently. As well, when someone states these opinions in straight-forward non-PC manners, they tend to draw even more flak. In the drawing of said flak, one will begin to create actual people who dislike them. But it shows real maturity to stick around anyway and be actually helpful.
Anyhow, my point is that I don't want you to feel like the election was a rebuking by the community. Your campaign for Lead showed a much more comprehensive picture of your views than your posts generally allow, and I found it nice to get to know you a little better via a thread with almost no flames.
NJ,
Thank you for contributing to the conversation as well. You're obviously a dedicated and eager member of the community, but more admirable yet was the wisdom you showed in making the difficult decision to step aside at the right time. You're an asset to ALFA, and I'm sure paazin will be as grateful for all your help on the PR team as I am.
As a note, I just want to say that when Wynna stepped aside my initial reaction was pretty negative, 'woah is us, we're doomed,' etc.... But after the mature and thoughtful discussion that was created by all three of you, I'm proud of ALFA and I'm looking forward to what we'll accomplish together over the next six months.

Vendrin had alot of good ideas. I've played with him and DMed briefly under him as well. Despite the rep he has for his supposed temperment, I've always found him to be a practical and thoughtful guy with a finely tuned BS detector. One that, further down the line, often proves to be correct. I hope he does not take these results as a repudiation of him in this community and that Paazin involves him and lets him run with his ideas.
The bit about banning everything Rusty being what caused people to turn away from him on this is a bit ironic, considering that the Admin will no doubt get the votes to Recall Rusty and likely see him removed for conduct or absence.
Its too bad this election could not have been run in the absence of Rusty so it would have been more of a contest of ideas. I think Vendrin would have done better there. He did a great job with the North Underdark, he put together a good DM team, had some amazing RPers, ran incredible plots. He also actually does give people a chance and allows his opinions to be changed by people. As far as passionate people go, that is a rare trait he does have.
With the DMA position likely vacant soon or at the next election, I hope he runs for that position as he is a DM's DM.
