Thanks, Leareth! And what paazin said.

I think we got alynn's input. How about you, maxcell? Anyone else?

I'm all for Boston, being a recent transplant myself. I may not be around the whole weekend, still trying to settle flight plans for the family visit. I'm trying to be around at least one day that weekend though, so don't worry about me.

I've taken part of my vacations for that week-end, so I'll definately be there. Still have to work out the details. Chances are, I'll be there a couple of days earlier to visit.

Dang, if it's Boston, I might have to make an appearance as long as we don't have house guests that weekend.

EDIT:
Magonushi

Tentatively, it looks like August 23-24 may work best for most people. Maybe there'll be some of us around on the 22nd too.

As for places to stay and where to meet, I'm open to suggestions. There may be some cheap(er) places to stay just outside the city.

Anything I missed for now?

I'll probably be coming up from NYC, but that's not in stone yet. Will most likely be coming from NYC, or heading to NYC afterwards.

Does someone who knows the area (or has time to look into it) want to suggest a place to stay and/or meet?

I'd suggest http://www.bostonhostel.org/ for staying in the area, if you don't mind hostels. They're pretty decent quality and relatively inexpensive.

As far as where to meet, well - depends on what people are in the mood to do, really. Most of the sightseeing bits are downtown, by the Common, the Statehouse, Fanuel Hall, etc.
People talk of bestial cruelty, but that's a great injustice and insult to the beasts; a beast can never be so cruel as man, so artistically cruel.

There's like a $10 bus from NYC to Boston. Grab that

Hey E-Coasters. Been watching this string of posts for awhile, and may be able to make this years gathering. I'll confirm/back-out once my schedule declares itself, but it's looking promising.
