Question on Skills

Post by Phineus »

I understand that custom ALFA skills aren't available at character creation but even after my PC hit second level I didn't see any additional skills (climb, sense motive, swim etc)...should I have?

No.
People talk of bestial cruelty, but that's a great injustice and insult to the beasts; a beast can never be so cruel as man, so artistically cruel.

The word on the streets is that we'll add them after Obsidian releases a patch that fixes skill entry limits or something like that.

Exactly. We're awaiting the 1.13 patch of NWN2 (which is a bit overdue by now if I'm not mistaken) to switch over to a PnP skillset. When the time comes, you'll basically get a transition setup where you get to re-choose your skill ranks to transfer points out of deleted noncanon skills, and into all the new, nifty, PnP ones.

Acutally, depending on the timing of the patch, there may be some lag time before we get the skills in, as I'll want to do some careful testing before we throw the switch for Live- it's a somewhat irreversible process once it's done. But nothing is wrong with your character sheet at this time.

What kind of fancy shmancy skills are planned for our joy filled NWN2 ALFA² experience?

". . .to begin with." Aha! What does that mean? Mmm?

That we'll start with the skills listed in the PHB and evaluate whether or not we want to adopt other skills, from supplementals or elsewhere, including your cranium. That was "the plan" anyway. Time and interest permitting.
