East Coast ALFA Con 2008

Post by Rotku »

Okay, so far people who have voiced interest:
  • Maxcell
  • valn99
  • AcadiusLost
  • Rotku
  • Mick (?)
  • Any others? Go recruit!
Ideal for me would be some time after August the 18th (long time away, I know - it's nice to plan ahead!), as my free time before then is slightly unpredictable.

Location I'm not fussed on - given that I don't really know the States, I'll leave it up to someone else to decide. Someone's suggested Boston.

From the past two ALFA cons I've been to, I've found having a two day thing is much more enjoyable - gives time to unwind, get to know people, and so forth. But I guess that depends on how much time people have.

<Mick> well, /if/ it is close by, I might try to make it
<Mick> and crash it, even though I'm no longer a member

I might be able to do it if someone can give me a place to stay, as airplane fare will be expensive enough.

I'm in! Especially if it's after August 15th which is when my class ends. I can manage earlier, but it might be harder for me to get places away from home.

Boston works for me, since it's my new home, but if it's elsewhere I can try to get there too.

NYC shouldn't be a problem for me either.

What better way to get more acquainted with people than meet them in RL?

If anyone knows anyone else who might be interested, point them this way. Then we'll try and set a date and location (I will have to leave that up to you locals, I'm afraid).

Hmm, can a moderator please sticky this thread and unsticky the previous one?

We should decide on a time and place soon. Last year, despite our best efforts, only alynn and I were there. Oddly enough, the one alfan from Boston was absent! *coughs*Paazin*coughs* ;)

This one, at that time of year, seems to be coming together.

Shall we aim for Boston then? Over the weekend of the 23rd/24th of August? Purely a suggestion - if anyone else has any better ideas let 'em rip!
