I have reviewed your bid for retention of your questionable title as a proficient antagonist...well done. You have been redeemed to your former "Major Asshat" status.

*bows*

Please remember to allow new members at least 1 month of getting hooked on the ALFA before attempting to bring them to the world of Spamadonia or engage in any type of flame fest with the younglings.

Happy hunting Vendrin.

Valid concerns were posted, and abruptly stopped short of any DM response.

I PM'd Rusty About it.
"Thread was nonspecific to looting tables, and there was no need to lock it. It still would have been nice to hear from our local DM team about wealth concerns in the interim."
I got this response
That's a definitive answer, Amar. There will be more loot, just not for a few days. TSM DMs have much better things to do than listen to people complaining about not having enough GP, particularly when the parties involved are both serial complainers and serial non-contributors.

Rusty
So obviously, because I choose not to build, and am concerned about an issue, im a serial complainer and serial non-contributor, and do not deserve a response from people I want to hear from.

EDIT: Despite the fact that Ive barely been around for 2 years.
I did not want to really, "take sides" or get involved at all...especially for fear that I may *chokes* support, Amar or even *gasps* Vendrin...

A little part of me enjoyed Rusty's response. ;)

Vendrin, you certainly are not without fault with your behavior in the past, and although Amar is not as skilled as you, he can be quite an annoying "comic relief side-kick" of yours.

I do have to concede that you have both contributed to ALFA, as well as Mik. But even if none of you had contributed anything more than playing...that is still a contribution, heck posting a "bug" or "suggestion" is contributing.

My final thought is *gags* I agree with Vendrin and Amar. Rusty, your PMed response could have been shorter, and absolutely did not need to insult anyone.

Why would you give people ammunition? I understand that you have a "mandate" and have avoided a recall...however the fact that you have such a vocal opposition, and for something so easily changed.

All you need to do is avoid being rude. That is a very small thing to do. Self control over what you choose to say. It would be different if we were in person and you didn't have time to re-think/proofread what you were going to say.

Before you send it ask yourself "Will someone take offense to this?"

Of course if people really want to they can "twist" what you say into something that it is not, but that is not whats happening.

If you act that way towards me, I won't "flame" you, but I certainly will not support you.

For those of you who support Rusty.

"A person that is a jerk to the waiter, but is nice to you, is NOT a nice person."

Its no secret that I do not support Vendrin or his lackey Amar...however, I still don't think anyone in a position such as the DMA should treat any ALFAn in that fashion. Just because he is nice to you, does not make him a good leader.

I am all for better standards and training for DMs, I think DMs that refuse to fufill the standards are egotistical themselves. You can always be a better story teller. But I can see how the way in which Rusty presents himself that it could be deemed as insulting.

I hope you change your methods Rusty. I would like to support you on the quest to improvng standards and DMing as a whole, but I will not follow someone who is incapable of controlling how they speak to others.

I was that person a few years ago, I had some pretty serious personal issues at the time. I couldn't see the forest because of all the trees. Years later I recall some of the things I said, and am amazed. It was like a doppleganger took over for a while.

Even if I don't like the person you are being rude to, I will not condone it. I happen to like Rick, so my first impressions are that you are rude to everyone across the board. Maybe you need a secretary who can proof read all your correspondence?

PMs are private. Anyone flaunting this fact in order to be cool and jump on the proverbial bandwagon is a douche.

Feminine hygene for teh win.

I agree PMs should be left as private, but there is nothing enforcing that now...so Rusty needs to mind his "P's" and "Q's" or else he will give his opponents ammunition. You catch more bee's with honey, than vinegar.

I wholeheartedly agree with Nalo...I have seen privacy fly out the door. If some people can do it and get away with it, it should become a standard thing. The P in PM no longer means private.

Except when it involves harassment or breaches in ALFA standards.

I posted PM's that I felt demonstrated a breach of standards by a sitting Admin.

The PM that started this thread, by any corporate standards, would be grounds for harassment.

The "private" is only what you make of it. Some PM senders have taken advantage of the "private" part as an excuse to be abusive or just an ass in general, and I personally think that sort of crap should be subject to exposure. It was especially bad when you could get strikes for sharing a PM...somebody sends you a PM saying whatever foul tripe they wish and then they bring charges against you for telling anybody about their abusive PM. I have vague recollection of the current dma being such an offender in times past.

Who's the bigger tool I wonder...the person who publicly posts a PM, or the one who abuses the privacy of the PM to run their mouth?

These kinds of issues are why I generally prefer to conduct business in public and not by PM, and certainly only PM with people I trust to not be dicks about it.

Amar asked a question. Be a decent human being and answer the question politely.

Is that too much to ask? Seriously? Can't you muster a bare minimum of professionalism Rusty? In another thread he told someone he was obviously hallucinating about an incorrect, if not unreasonable point. Maybe that is what passes for humor with him. I imagine the Infra Admin, who can see everything, could have a pretty fair drinking game based on every time he insults someone.

The point is he is casaully unprofessional. So why doesn't the DM Code of Conduct apply to Rusty?

I'm sorry, he serially abuses almost every single person that disagrees with him. Public? Private? It's all good.

The reality is he can say and treat people however he wants because he is the DM Admin. There is absolutely nothing anyone can do about that because the Admin and other HDMs won't do anything about that.

So until he is up for election again or throws another temper tantrum and quit, insulting PMs and wholly unprofessional correspondence are about the best we can hope for. About the only thing that saved him from a recall is the drama of removing him.

And Rick, you need to file an official complaint to make anything happen. I hope you go for it. Welcome back, btw.
