Also, a suggestion while this is in the massive testing stage: Add a gold faucet along with a merchant with all types of armour and shields at the starting location.
It's a bit difficult to check out areas solo right now as a level 1
Also it seems there's an inordinate amount of areas that are marked non-rest. Might I suggest the overland map is a good place for that at the moment?

People talk of bestial cruelty, but that's a great injustice and insult to the beasts; a beast can never be so cruel as man, so artistically cruel.

There's a nice place to make camp near the entrance to High Hold. Yes, you should be able to rest there. Finding a good place to rest is a bit of a challenge in 003 and on the OAS2 - it is intended that you can't rest just anywhere. I find it helpful to think in terms of finding a good campsite: a good place to build a fire & pitch a tent (using the PC Tool) and maybe find a source of water nearby. By thinking in terms of what I'd look for if I were camping, I've become a lot better at finding good resting spots.paazin wrote:I tried resting in the environs of High Hold and was told 'You can't rest here'
Unfortunately along with that it made my character stuck so only a DM healing me could make me move again.
Also, does it seem to anyone else the water is really really blue?
And yes, the water is a weeeee bit on the blue side to me, too.

To hazard a guess- that wolf was likely a dwarf in Wolf's clothing. (Gold Dwarf is the default creature type for some reason, it's difficult to change it when making creature blueprints. Anything with animal, beast, or vermin base creature type should be exempt from the ACR loot placeholder system that's stocking them with gold. But dwarves, given the appearance, names, and stats of wolves, still drop gold.paazin wrote:I killed a wolf outside the High Hold and it dropped gold pieces.
...
Also, for some reason all of these wolves are already wounded (?)
re: spawning wounded, one of the patches changed how currentHP and maxHP are stored, so creatures tooled before then sometimes need adjustment to spawn in with correct HP totals.
re: resting- it's fairly restricted currently because the system is unfinished. The idea is, you should need to make a camp to rest in the wild (which should require equipment). Doing so would create a temporary rest trigger for your PC. Easier to tell PCs to rest in inn rooms (and rely on the offline resting) for now, and add camping later, than to add a bunch of resting triggers everywhere, and remove them all when it's finished. As Curm has found, there are also a few other rest-able areas scattered about as well.
Well the annoying bit is that I was never able to memorize my spells for any of the characters I created. The start area doesn't let you rest, either, which really ought to be changed. OOC resting needs to be allowed somehow, as it's needed by many spellcasters (especially since you can't leave spell spots blank in NWN2 and memorize them on-the-fly like you can in PnP)Curmudgeon wrote:There's a nice place to make camp near the entrance to High Hold. There's an Inn in Rivermoot where you should be able to rest for a price. Other towns should have similar facilities, or will shortly. For wizards, clerics, (and druids, too, I presume), memorizing spells/prayers requires that you be Rested and then Use your spellbook or holy symbol. A different process entirely, additional time required.paazin wrote:Well the annoying bit is that I was never able to memorize my spells for any of the characters I created. Admittedly, none of this is particularly intuitive, nor is there yet (afaik) a FAQ or other resource for new players to learn of the differences between out-of-the-box NWN2 and ALFA NWN2, unless there's something relatively new in the OAS2. I'll suggest adding this to list of things to be done before Live, or shortly thereafter. I'll also volunteer to help edit this if no one else is available.

Thanks for updating the start area, whoever did that.
One area I found odd, the High Hold Rockpile cave - the place had serious crazy loot in it. I ran in there with my (admittedly ultra-PG'd) half-orc and came out with probably a few k gold worth of stuff.
Also seems like there's a walkmesh issue. Can't enter one room.

Rivermoot looks amazing from the heights above the city; however, in the town itself there seem to be a few merchants who are perpetually closed. Are the stores for them not present?
Oh, also in the Tusker Caves, the door after the first room seems busted.

In Silverymoon, the section of the Moonway by the Ghostway has a bunch of birch trees in the middle of the road. Also, the section that has a steep uphill climb is quite narrow and the pathfinding seems to screw up some.
The door for Optym's Blade doesn't work.

Did someone forget to bake the catacombs?
Also the merchants by the halls of inspiration have some pretty wacky items (armour of +5 use magic device?)
Outside the Hunter's Gate the road has a drop in it that's not walkable (as it's quite steep)
Also, the Hunter's Gate to the world map AT doesn't work.

A dozen Malravens spawn next to a tent and bucket outside High Hold.
The entry door to High Hold doesn't want to open.
The AT of the big shop in the High Hold interiors doesn't seem to work.
Also the world map gives me an error and forces me to quit

Boots? I'll bet you'll want boxer shorts and black laced panties next
Heh, I'll check
In the mean time, to answer to some of the listed bugs, we are currently re-organizing the palette and adding some new interiors and rough ins for quests, so the current mod is out of date and a new one should be up in a day or so. Hopefully the catacombs will be baked though they are still a work in progress

Boxers and briefs, plz, and as long as the panties fit the dorf and half-orc models besides them skinny-arsed elfie types, yer on. Mebbe some granny bloomers too? Or not, as time permits.Rick7475 wrote:Boots? I'll bet you'll want boxer shorts and black laced panties next![]()

But definitely boots. I'm tired of walking the cart paths and getting gooshy brown stuff stuck between my toes.
