ALFA NWN2 Haks - v1.4

Post by AcadiusLost »

Took some time today to add some material to our haks. A basic rundown of what's newly added:

-Nytir's BCKII (Generic and Gothic)

-RWS's Pocket Cathedrals Tileset

-Tupouns's City Hak 1.0

-Heed's ActionSit package

-DMCB's Yeoman pack of armor models

-Walkmesh helpers (including a "Ramp" type helper)

I've also added a selection of more appropriate weapon appearances for various swords, some of which replace the least attractive of the base NWN2 models. These are drawn from Adonnays Elven Weapons pack as well as some of the Escrimator packs (scimitars).

Here is a screenshot of some of the material as it appears in-game:

I've preserved 2da rows for all the tilesets and placeables in this release, so we can use their erf files to get blueprints for building with (saves us a great deal of time). I'll post when the new versions of the haks are updated on the Worldgate host, as well as linking updated builder override packs and the erf files to blueprint the new material.

Enjoy!

Worldgate host now updated with the new 1.4 haks - all but the alfa_terrain.hak received at least 1 additional resource, so give Worldgate some time to download.

As usual, the "ALFA" profile is to be used, configuring "From URL" with www.alandfaraway.org - the notes describe the improvements briefly.

Builders can find the new set of 2da overrides for toolsetting with the custom tiles/terrains here (these are to be removed before joining servers):

http://www.alandfaraway.org/downloads/N ... es_1.4.rar

Additionally, I've uploaded importable erfs for the placeable blueprints.

http://www.alandfaraway.org/downloads/N ... prints.rar
http://www.alandfaraway.org/downloads/N ... prints.rar
http://www.alandfaraway.org/downloads/N ... prints.rar
http://www.alandfaraway.org/downloads/N ... prints.erf

The latter two have PDF files bundled in as a guide to the placeable parts included. Additional weapon appearances are available in the properties of long, short, bastard, and greatswords, falchions, scimitars, and longbows. The new armor appearances appear in the Armor Set area as a new category called "DMCB Clothing" or the like- it's at the bottom of the listing there for main type. The two similar hauberks have differing emblems (generic cross vs ankh) when you tint them.

Happy building!

Just a very minor update for anyone who'd already run the Worldgate- I forgot to include the walkmesh helpers. So- might be worth a re-run of the Worldgate Client, and a re-download of the builders override pack.

do the hauberks look like the kind of thing I can retexture with realmsian heraldry?

A closeup of the new armor types can be seen here:

You could probably reskin them with Realms-specific crests, but it'd be a bit crowded, and they look more like chainmail than plate for the knightly sorts.

yeah I see what you mean.. my best bet for adding heraldry would be to stylise the emblems to make them blocky and 1 colour..

I can see a nice big fat Tempus emblem on the front of that breastplate though :)

Heed's ActionSit was updated a few days ago. Had some rather big bugs he fixed.
