Based on the folks I've talked to in chat and PM, we've got at least two teams of three so far. For those of you who want to get a jump on downloading, let me refer you to the OAS2 How to Log Into the OAS2 thread. Follow the instructions in the first post to get Worldgate installed on your PC and then use it to get the ALFA haks and PWCs. It's very simple and if this is your first ALFA NWN2 download, it will be a big one and it will pay to get it done early. Then you can update the night before the event simply by starting Worldgate and selecting ALFA.
Enjoy the game
The drow sorcerer stood on a low peak of the most recently created of the Neverwinter Mountains. The second range had risen up a little over a year ago. But, already these newly formed mounts were impressive. Rising much higher than the older Neverwinter peaks and giving way to much more fertile and versatile plains and valleys below, these mountains were the cradle of what would be new civilizations and empires for the foreseeable future. The Neverwinter Two Mountains, as they were called, had not entirely forgotten the once great lands of ALFA. They had afforded this Land Far Away some space in which to build. But this space was dry, arid, and harsh. Most of those who had remained after the great quake had split the land, had departed for more inviting and stable lands, with leaders who had more foresight and interest in their people's welfare and success, instead of plotting amongst and against each other to the detriment of the kingdom.
The great quake saw entire swathes of ALFA collapse, forming great chasms, and abysses that cause the once united kingdom to split into many small fiefdoms governed by many small nobles. The leaders at that time were held responsible for bringing about this disaster thus were exiled from the land. Many rallied to save the kingdom of ALFA, chief amongst them Wynna, who would come to be known as the White Lady because of her hand in bringing back ALFA from the brink of destruction. Many of her followers also became entrenched in the minds of the people, affording them unprecedented leeway, regardless of their future actions, be they good or bad.
The ebony skinned mage looked upon the land with disdain and loathing. For at one time, it had been his home. Many times he had tried to warn them that an ill wind blew toward the kingdom, yet they would not listen. They dismissed his concerns as the ranting of a dark-skinned fear-monger, a doomsayer. Others challenged him to step up and attempt to head off this impending doom he often spoke of. So... he did. He had worked himself into the fabric of the ruling class, first as the leader of those who guided the day-to-day activities of the citizenry and then as the overall leader of the kingdom. It was a first. No drow had ever sat atop the kingdom of ALFA, and none have since. His tenure as leader was short-lived, however. He had brought his tyrannical, underdark mindset into his new position. The surfacers were not ready for such radical change, thus railed against his way of accomplishing things.
He found allies during his time as a monarch. But, he also found enemies. Not the least of which were the White Lady and her minions. He was surprised to find out that Mikayla, the only other drow ever allowed into the nobility, opposed him on many points as well. But, he knew that she was much more a part of ALFA's surface world than he had ever been or would be. He knew that she believed in ALFA society, as a whole, far more than he did and fought him because she believed in the ideas and laws, that he wished to overturn or lessen, which had come about since the great quake. But, he knew that most of all, it was in her nature. The thought of a male having higher station than her, was never going to sit well with her. As a matter of fact, she had opposed him in his run for the lead monarch position and had lost. And, even though they got along quite well in most matters of daily life, it was in council matters that points of contention had come about. The male drow fully expected that he would find a blade between his shoulders should he have his back to her for far too long. What he did not know is that the White Lady and her minions were a much greater threat to him, his ways, and ALFA as a whole. It was one of the, now, Queen's minions that had a hand in overthrowing his advisor, and fellow noble, thus weakening his regime.
Ultimately, he saw that the kingdom of ALFA was intent on destroying itself. It had all but lost its focus on why the kingdom had been created in the first place, and it was too far gone to be saved now. With pressure from within and threats from without, he had decided that he would be a monarch no more.
Now, he stood on the mountain top, a crystal ball in his hand, images of the fractious kingdom, an empty husk of its former glory, swirled about in the scrying device. People scrambling, hastily preparing for something, but in nowhere near the numbers there once would have been. The Valsharess had left the Ivory Tower and indeed had stepped down from the council. His contacts had imparted upon him news of this new schism amongst ALFA's rulers. But, he had always figured it would be a cold day in the nine hells before Mikayla departed the council, and the hells would freeze over entirely before she departed ALFA. And though it was not quite freezing, the temperature in the hells was significantly lower. Something was definitely amiss. A war was upon ALFA... another one.
It had been a long time since he had departed ALFA and he was not the only one. Indeed, a mass Exodus had occurred, as people departed with their hopes and dreams for a better way of life. As a matter of fact, he had taken it upon himself to recruit disgruntled expatriates of ALFA, and guide the downtrodden refugees of ALFA's many wars into new, verdant lands. From time to time he would camp on the Neverwinter Two Mountains, waiting to see what news would come of ALFA, waiting to guide those in search of something more... something that should have been. This contest interested him. Not because he wanted to participate, but because it was something that might very well see what little that remained of once great ALFA finally sink into the annals of oblivion. He was after all a sadistic drow.
The drow slipped the crystal ball back into his satchel. He turned his head skyward, shielding his eyes from the sun. There circling high above were several vultures. The sinister, black birds swooped lower and lower with each revolution. Inaubryn looked on for a moment more, then looked back down to the near deserted kingdom. Was he still a fear-monger? A doomsayer? He grinned.

Team Evil: PM me with the times you might be available to meet up to discuss our plans and such - Wynna is an OAS DM, so I am sure she knows the OAS well, which none of us do, so we must get together and discuss. And maybe crawl over the OAS a bit. I'm usually available on Monday evenings, Wednesday evenings and Thursday evenings - this week though, Wednesday I am busy, so maybe Thursday. Oh, and I am on Pacific time. Ciao!

I have to admit some doubt about this event occuring this weekend. My team has not yet had a chance to meet and chat, we don't know what the competition actually is, and there seems to be little in the way of coordination developing (not that the folks behind this, myself included, aren't trying - we are - I just don't think we are really going to be ready by this weekend). Wynna, others, what are your thoughts?

I have been cramming all my free time into getting OAS2 polished and ready for the community, and have really had no time to invest in this venture yet. A weeks delay would not be amiss in my court.
