Active NWN2 Servers

Post by Rotku »

Been updatign the NWN1 portal map and thought I might throw together a server map for NWN2 (as I can't find any already done - apologies if I'm stepping on anyones toes if there already is one somewhere!). However, I have no idea what NWN2 areas are active and what have died off. Nor, for that matter, the areas which the servers cover. Any help? If the servers are still similar to the proposals, I guess I could find that out.

Rick? Indio? Thangorn? Coach?

Certainly TSM, Moonsea and Cold Lands are in progress, and as far as I know cover the area specified in the proposal.

Waterdeep also, but given its hardware demands for the toolset alone, it may be difficult to move it much for the next while.

Not official server but as i've said before i'm working on BG. Some folks have had a tour already, still trying to organize folks for a DM quest.
There's a place I like to hide
A doorway that I run through in the night
Relax child, you were there
But only didn't realize and you were scared
It's a place where you will learn
To face your fears, retrace the years
And ride the whims of your mind

Not sure if it makes sense to include the Soubar/Dragonspear region of the Heartlands on there as well, since the OAS2 is up in Beta covering those regions, and last I heard Teric was working on making a parallel version for regular ALFA use. I'm certain I've seen a map with the server numbers / borders for NWN2-ALFA posted somewhere, though I can't find it now. Might be easiest to work from that.

I wanted to pinch Voonlar and a little bit of Cormanthor surrounding it for the proposal as I wanted to get some decent forested areas into the live mod and it makes sense considering Voonlar is controlled by certain factions I have an affinity with :).

I havent applied for this yet though. I could swap some small northern bits of Cormanthor for a bigger chunk of the Border Forest if someone wants the Dales..

Yeah, I can remember a couple, back from when things were first starting. Spent a while looking for it to no avail.

This was one from the beginning of the process. Thanks for taking this on, Rotku.

Okay, so we have:
ALFA 01 - Waterdeep
ALFA 03 - Silver Marches (BETA)
ALFA 06 - Moonsea
ALFA 07 - Coldlands

And then ALFA 10 & 11 are sort of split between two 'un-offical' servers.

What are the status of ALFA 02 -- The Far North, ALFA 09 -- Island Kingdoms, and ALFA 27 -- Northdark?

02: TFN is being actively built by Marklos, still pre-Beta1 last I heard.

09: IK is castano's build- he had an early pre-beta hosted for a while many months ago, but I haven't heard from him in a long time, probably best not to mark it as under active development for now.

27: ND - Haven't heard any reports of progress on this at all, I believe Inaubryn was the contact for it. We added resources to the haks to support the build, but I'm not aware of it's state currently.

As a thank you to Mikayla for her years of service and all round spunk factor, I'll build whichever Underdark region she wants me to after I finish Moonsea.

So let me know please Mikayla, so I can start getting maps organised.

I agree to not mark IK as active yet. I've been adding to it slowly, but had to take a hiatus due to RL issues. Coverage, at least to start will be portions of the Moonshaes.

TSM - is up for testing. I am currently still adjusting exteriors, but all the exteriors we are going to have are there.

There was a great deal of corruption and I managed to rework 12 exteriors over the last 3 weeks. Some interiors are currupted and I am hoping we can save one of the big ones.

Once I can finish the last exterior (I have to pretty much redo all of it) I will link all the interiors and if the Quests all work, we will move into beta 2.

I am hoping everyone who was doing interiors is still with us, I have been extremely busy and need to get back to coordinating everyone.

There's some argument over Sschindylryn's exact location...some say under Cormyr. But it looks like a good place to start Underdark building.

Any other ideas?
