Thanks AL. If the process of getting up and running in order to start building could be streamlined it would certianly be a massive help to those of us who's finally gotten the time to learn the toolset and now want to help in some fashion. The Worldgate client is excellent for staying up to date on changes, it's the getting started part that's a bit fuzzy atm.

Thanks again.

Kate
I'm trying to get Worldgate Client working. How do I shot web?! Am I just a st00pid n00b?

I'm back building and should be able to finish off most jobs I've got under way by the end of the week (Waterdeep names, Ayergo's inns, Cold Lands layout and TSM quests....I think that's the list). I should have some mountain screens for Darren by tomorrow sometime.

There we go. Knew there was a reason to spell the list out.

Here is my 3rd shot at making them look appropriate to the region. Don't fret if you don't like the look of them because they're easily redone, both texturally and geographically. However, now is definitely the time to give feedback to refine the look. The colors are based on this sort of thing:
Image and the contours seen in the texture lines are a reflection of the various watermarks left after the valley was flooded (canonical flooding, that is).

These are the 9 northern areas of this map, from the NW corner:

Quick take: Awesome!

I can get a rough sense of scale at these heights but would you be able to zoom in for a good shot from ground level of the mountains? Much obliged.

The other thing I wanted to mention, perhaps an easy fix, and I've bolded in the passage below to keep Coach happy with a canon reference. The Galena Mountains have been noted for their jagged nature, would you be able to loft them up a bit especially in the central portion of the Pass? Maybe you can use the border areas to do that with, not sure.

Otherwise... wow, you have the method down Sir. That's going to be one gorgeous area to behold.
Galena Mountains

If a violent, powerful force brought two land masses smashing together, the result would surely resemble the jagged, broken peaks of the Galena Mountains. Two hundred and fifty miles long, this narrow range averages only twenty-five miles in width and Bloodstone Pass offers the only sensible way through. Adventurers walking in the range find themselves plodding 10 miles up, down, and around for every mile they move in their desired direction.

The Galenas define the border between Vaasa and Damara as sharply as any border in the Realms. The mountains are laced about with ice and snow, with a year-round wind howling down from the Great Glacier. The Galenas are home to hundreds of thousands of goblinoids and giants, and countless other monsters.

looks good to me

i have always thought of Albert Bierstadt and his Yosemite paintings when thinking of Bloodstone Pass for their sheer cliffs bordering the sides of the Pass being as though the Glacier swole (i love saying that word 8) ) the Beaumaris and then cut the valley as it receded

the colors seem very close

edit: spelling error
