Heh.

The dam is full, but we're not swimming in it yet. The frogs and plants are slowly transforming it but it will need to evolve from barren through swamp and beyond before we get to swimming hole. We head off to the public pool most mornings for a couple of hours.

if making the Gate more than two levels proves undoable through the toolset ... we could make the 3rd through 5th levels inaccessible to PCs by calling them the "Garrison" levels

the Army of Bloodstone has a permanent patrol station in the Vaasan Gate and being as though Damara pretty much is always under threat of war and the threats are mostly from the Vaasa region, the King could force the Gate to leave the top floors empty of residents or shops in case the Army has to be garrisoned there on short notice

problem solved?

I think you're killing Indio with the details Coach.
All good points to consider, however.

The detailing of the Vaasan Gate we can massage along during the beta process much as Rick & crew are doing now.
actually, i thought i was squashing the details LOL i guess it's all about perception :P ... basically we can put a "roof" over the second floor (which would be the floor of the 3rd level) with only a handful of stairway accesses and only have to worry about designing and detailing two levels

almost done with the interior map of level one
Garrigan DeLorre - Paladin 6 - died honorably in battle
X'Anne - Witch (Druid/Ranger mix) 4 - captured and imprisoned awaiting trial (retired)
Talon Xavaliir - Cleric 11 - living

Silly question but what wall placeable is that being used??? I don't see it in the basemod and would love to tinker with it.

Thanks.

Hey MK,

I think that's from City Walls 1.0 but I'm not 100.0% sure that it's officially in the basemod yet. I'll defer to a higher authority for the definitive answer. :)

"The basemod" is anything but official currently- as I believe I mentioned. The haks contain the appearances for everything all the builders are using, you just don't have blueprints to facilitate placing them until you either make them yourself, or import some of ALFA's premade ones.

The City Walls .erf is at http://www.alandfaraway.org/downloads/N ... ywalls.erf

though some internet browsers have a habit of turning that into useless text instead of letting you download it as a file. Try right-clicking and using "save as.." to download it, then confirm that the file ends in ".erf" and not ".html" or ".php" or anything- if so, rename before importing.

If I find time, I will try to clean up the /builders folder, and set up a proper basemod with instructions- but for not that's not atop my list of priorities.

Gotcha,

Thanks AL. If the process of getting up and running in order to start building could be streamlined it would certianly be a massive help to those of us who's finally gotten the time to learn the toolset and now want to help in some fashion. The Worldgate client is excellent for staying up to date on changes, it's the getting started part that's a bit fuzzy atm.

Thanks again.

I whipped this up in 15 minutes this morning, so there could be inaccuracies, plus you'll have to contend with my Placeable Categories, but it's got everything in place.

Might want to hold off on that one till I can go over it- a fair bit has changed here and there since TSF was in it's initial Beta stages.

Those would be the ones I need to update when I find a free block of time to dig in on things. The effort is appreciated, but figured it needs fair warning.

In the mean time, we encourage new builders to ask any questions they may have as we have enough experienced folk here who can give you the helping hand required.

... and I'll do my best not to misinform. :)
