All of Zhentil Keep's city exteriors are now complete at least in draft form.. the northern two sections need a bit of baking work and I'll be changing the wall configuration once we decide to adopt the new wall piece placeables from the vault.

once I get this lot all baked and joined up I'll be working on two more adventuring exteriors.. then I think we'll have enough to go beta 1 with..

here's some screenies to give you an idea of the new city..

enjoy.. and feel free to give me a hand any time :)

Gotta love the new walls of Zhentil Keep, a definite improvement from the old.. Thanks once again Acadius for compiling the new haks.

I just finished a 120hr RL working week so I havent built anything since my last report..

After I have a short break I'll get back into it again.

It would be great if I had another prolific builder or two to work with on the project.
Just keeps me motivated, not that I have much trouble finding motivation but it just makes things easier when you have regular contributors to bounce off.

The next couple of things I am working on is a write-up for the front-page of the website and readily accessible task-list for future/current contributors. Then its back to retrofitting the city with new content (20hrs or so work), making NPCs/critters(50+ hrs) and then placing spawns (10+ hrs). Bit of spawn debugging will come next, then I'll need to finalise the merchants and static quests.. thats about another 50-100hrs or so work.

at least the task-list for beta is getting smaller.

didnt realise it had been so long since my last post in here..

I've been rebuilding the eyecandy in Zhentil Keep.. never thought I'd have the problem with NWN2 of too much content but now.. every time I rebuild with new content, some more new content comes out that'd make things look better so I have to go back and repeat the process..

Therefore I am waiting until MotB comes out over here and then I am going to do my final rebuild of the eyecandy. By this time the quest system will likely be running so I'll be able to get some beta statics in..

I still have a tonne of NPCs to make and I am slowly grinding at them even though all the clothing and armour is a bit meh, not much that zhenty in there.. lucky we all have good imaginations huh? :)

anyway.. grinding away at what I can between crappy working hours and having a semblance of a love and social life..

stay tuned...

By way of thread bumpage and because it seems some people aren't aware of any progress being made for ALFA's NWN2 mods.

Moonsea has 40+ areas complete and I expect to be Beta I by Christmas 07.

Right now I am stalling until I get MotB next week because all the new content means I find new ways to rebuild some areas to make them less clunky or lame, and I'd rather make this my last stab at finishing for Beta I.

Beta II will mean more static content and a little more fleshing out according to tester feedback and is likely by the end of Feb 08.

Beta III will mean final debugging and getting the travel map, some wilderness sites and random encounter systems ready. Likely in Apr 08.

Live will be final implementation which I expect sometime in May 08.

My timeline is subject to external factors, like how much help I get (as my timeline accounts for just me, the core builder) and also because I plan to move to New Zealand in the next few months and will have to get things like a roof over my head before I have intarrnets and building apparatus.. When I do move to NZ I will likely have a heap of time to build as my wife is coming over a few months after me so perhaps it wont take as long as I think it will :)..

I hope people find this informative and helpful. Thank you for reading :)

Well done, Thangs. Even more impressive when it seems you're doing the whole server yourself. Thanks for the work, and the update.
Enjoy the game

Made some changes to the eyecandy on account of there being new content to mess around with.

bah.. the power supply on my build machine just caught fire :(

that'll put me out of building for a little while, I can build on my laptop but it is tedious as it doesnt have the right proc or enough memory and it struggles to run the tools..

The Curse of Zhentil Keep strikes again!!
